@@Terri6868 loved Leave a Whisper from the first song to the last song, same with Us and Them and like quite a bit of Amaryllis. I liked some from Sound of Madness but knew once Second Chance was a hit it would change the band’s sound and boy it definitely did.

Brent Smith explained on a radio interview program, Rockline, that while the band was writing the new album, he had a dream about a mother whose daughter died a month before her son Trevor was born. He wrote the song about the mother dealing with the death of her child and trying to move on.[2]

Shinedown is Deep and incredible band. If you look they have the most consecutive top 10 songs in HISTORY. They have literally like 20 straight top 10 single’s.

On the Billboard top main stream rock chart they are #1 out of the 40 years of Billboard. Godsmack is #2 another band I love. I knew about Godsmack years before I knew about Shinedown. I can't believe I only found out about them in 2013. I have seen both bands together live but SD over 15 times & met the band many times. Great humble sweet guys especially Brent and Barry.

love Brent, love Shinedown, problem is the world is f*****, no one cares about good singers, guitar players, bass players, drum players, anymore.. its sad, i still had the chance to hear them live back in 2006 when I lived in Virginia :D This wasn't even out, and Brent was way more f***** but he still could sing

Thanks guys, I told you it was deep. It came to Brent in a dream. He dreamed it was the daughter passing away with cancer 1 month before the son was born. He changed it to the son died I’m thinking as a infant 👶 cancer, Sid’s I don’t know. It was meant to comfort anyone that has lost a child. 🦋

I feel like the song has resignation for anyone who has lost anyone, it makes me think of my brother who passed from a drug OD in 2020 (which kills me to this day, being a nurse I should have noticed what was going on but everyone was having to keep a distance related to covid and we lived 800 miles away from each other) but this song meant so much to me after he passed that I got an awesome tattoo of a crow chasing a butterfly on my forearm for him, it's by far my favorite of all my tattoos
