Your voice is your gift, and an instrument like any other must be treated with respect, not to many vocalists would show you behind the scenes, thanks :P
@Wirolain4 жыл бұрын
I hate it when musicians act like something was just given to them. As it takes blood sweat and tears, and lots of passion to reach that level of skill. I love it when they actually tell people how they work, because why wouldn't you want some more beautiful music in this world. Or are they just so insecure.. Brent shows his warm ups, which is awesome, tells on instagram stories how he writes melodies. It's not away from him. Also Ed Sheeran once showed his early singing recordings, which were not good. I can't tell you how long it took me to get into singing, just because I thought it was a "god given gift". Everyone can sing, doesn't mean everyone sounds the same, and they shouldn't :)

I've been around so many vocalists over the years and each one is different. I react as quickly as they do if someone who doesn't know that a bottle of ice cold water isn't conducive to warming up. As for 3 mins of weird noises I defer to my thoughts about the amount of muscles in his face he keeps in shape as well. 😼

What I like is that the warm up really is that. Getting the basic function of the voice going. It reminds me of an interview with Ronnie James Dio. "There are only so many hours a day in the voice." So you warm up a little to be limber but you save the hard push for the stage.

I just wanted to say that I love the band. I had the privilege of attending a concert just a couple days ago in Irvine, CA, and it was absolutely fantastic. I went with my dad and my best friend, and all three of us loved it. Both me and my dad have been fans since Amaryllis came out, and we both enjoyed that a bunch of Amaryllis songs showed up in the concert. My friend has never been into rock music very much, but after the concert, he became a fan of you as well. We got pretty lucky with our seating and were about 10 feet away from the platform where Eric Bass was playing for a few of the songs. My friend loved the acoustic songs, especially Through the Ghost and Simple Man, so much that the next day he started showing massive interest in guitar, and has now asked to begin guitar lessons. The point of this is that your music quite literally changed him, and I want to say thank you for that. Keep doing what you’re doing, and I love you guys

My daughter and I saw you guys perform 2 days before this video was posted in Houston. The Sound of Madness album got me thru a lot of rough times because I didn't get to see my daughter until she was a year and a half old. The song Call Me got me thru those nights of not knowing how she was or even what her name was until the day I finally got to meet her for the first time. Fast forward 10 years we're both big fans and I take her to see you guys for her first concert ever and were only 15 feet from Brent as he sings Call Me and I watch as she sings every word. I was the happiest and proudest father at that moment in my life and all the pain and struggle I went through to get to that moment with my daughter was worth it all. Probably won't ever read this but from the bottom of my heart thank you for everything...

Not really a fan of shinedown but Brent has one hell of a voice. He has one amazing voice and it’s so damn powerful that it’s crazy to me haha Watch any of his old videos of the acoustic version(s) of the song 45. He literally drowns out the acoustic guitars but stays on key the whole time. Speaking of those older 45 acoustic vids, he literally gives it his all vocally every single time whether he’s playing in a room for ten ppl or ten thousand ppl. So while I don’t really care for their music, those are a few reasons on why he’s awesome. And man that voice is killer
