I had shingles not too long ago, just on my nose and the roof of my mouth and I was miserable then. That poor pt! I bet he's MISERABLE. And plantar fasciitis is the DEVIL. so SO so painful!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband had worse then this person, it took him 4 months to heal.. 11 inches length and front to back almost complete around his body.. He got it real bad, he had it last May and finally heal last few weeks ago.

My kids grandmother had it in her eye and across her face. She fought it for over a year

Oh poor Michael, what a nice man. I think he knew what it was and so did the doctor. He looked like he had cancer and was so very thin. So sorry.

Fathers are parents, with parental responsibilities. It doesn't take both parents to accompany a child to the GP.

My Grandaughter had Chrones disease and after surgery went complete Organic and for 10 yrs has no problems with it-

I live in Vancouver and every time I watch shows that show day-to-day life in England I think I can't move there fast enough. I'm not a fan of progress and they seem to be a much more laid-back and relaxed people with a wonderful sense of humor and also a great passion for dogs. I understand that's being very general and there's bad everywhere but that lovely gentleman that said the toilet pinched his bum was too adorable for words. I'm already well used to the weather and something else that I enjoy is architecture is allowed to age there. In Vancouver a home that is 20 or 30 years old is considered old and should be torn down where a monster house is built. I live in a small Rancher that was built in 1975 and I'm surrounded by them all very sturdy strong houses. I watch four or five turn down every year I'm now in the process of watching the house next door torn down and the people had only renovated it 10 years ago. I was definitely born on the wrong side of the pond. My family all came from England I wish they had just stayed.

@@christinebotsford1315 I've that of that many times Christine. The smaller the population the better. I was born in a small town called Richmond. The population was probably 500. By the time I was 19 we had such an enormous influx of people coming from Hong Kong get the population was up to well over a hundred thousand. We had all planned on raising our families there but house prices got so high we moved to another small town called Cloverdale that's where I am now when I got here 30 years ago the population what's 4000 it's now well over a hundred thousand and almost every house in my neighborhood has been torn down to make room for great big monster houses. So if you have any suggestions the least rain possible would be nice. I don't mind the cold and the snow as long as life doesn't come to a stop because there's a little bit of snow on the ground. I find farming communities appeal to me. There used to be a beautiful horse pasture across the street and a gorgeous dairy farm on the corner but they're all gone now to make room for a hospital and a university. It's a shame because I bought my house because of the horse pasture and the dairy farm nothing like listening to the sound of horses and cows. Just curious where you're from period and thanks for your suggestions .

I live in a small Texas town on the Oklahoma border. We have a great school for the kids. Its a small school compared to others, but I like that they get more attention. We have oppressive heat in the summer, but mild winters. You might consider moving to the U.S.

So hard to see people reason with alcohol. We are learning so much more about it and gray area drinking. Please send people to get support for that, and mental health support as soon as mentioned. Sad to hear of Michaels passing, we all need to be more forthright in checking our health. Great to see the follow up on the patients. I heard 'so how can I help?" over and over again.

Are you living with Diabetes? @9:37 the HCA states that the urine is required for a glucose test. As you would know, simple fingerprick is far more accurate. However, people living with Diabetes should have at least an *annual urine sample for Albumin* (protein). This is an important routine Lab test to monitor kidney function, separate from a blood test. It should not be missed, especially for older people with diabetes. If the doctor forgets, then it is important remind the doctor or Practice Nurse. It's fine to ask and commendable to be managing your own care well.

Dear Michael you can always tell when people are on their own because their condition becomes so deteriorated. When you're not living with a spouse or a loved one to let you know what they're seeing and encourage a doctor's visit things can get left much too long. He really seems like a very lovely gentleman. This is the first time I've ever watched this show and I really am very touched by it . I will say I am concerned about these children and they're obvious addictions two telephones and tablets. I don't even have a smartphone in both of my grandchildren how to use of their parents old ones by the time they were two

I agree. Its concerning that they are addicted to electronics. They don't know what they are missing. We didn't have television for a long time. We entertained ourselves with reading, playing games, etc. Wonderful life.

I have scars from a shingles episode that covered my upper left shoulder, neck and jawline. It was the worst case my dermatologist had seen and was one of the most painful thing I’ve been through. I literally looked like I had leprosy.

I was fortunate with my first episode of shingles. The spots were not bad. The pain, though, lasted just over two months. I got the vaccine, and so far, it hasn't happened again in 4 years.

Well why didnt they test Michael a year before when he came to them? Send him for xrays , mri etc? Of course he would be dead before that happens

NHS is good for colds and minor issues. Awful for any major issue. They never want to test for anything. So things like cancer aren’t quickly picked up on. Unless you can pay for private care.

He has antalgic gait due to severe pain on his knee. Apart from getting xray from the patient the doctor needs to order blood test to rule out of septic arthritis as in arthritis pateint has symetrical arthritis not mono arthirits . This also could be osteoarthritis

This is very surprising ,the pateint with arthritis and knee pain the doctor examibed him on the chair ? How could be possible😮😮 he neeeds to check both knees together but on examination bed not on the chair

And sent away for an x ray to come back another day to follow up? No! My doctor would have sent me down the hall to the lab, then come back to review the x ray with me to come up with a treatment plan. No way would I have been on long term opioids to manage arthritis in my knee. PT? Cortisone injections? If you're to the point of needing opioids you need a replacement. Seriously what the heck? And what kind of examination of his knee was that? No real range of motion or flexion. I've had both knees replaced, had bone on bone arthritis with bone spurs so I've been there and done that. I would have been seriously ticked off with that visit.

In Australia, the vaccine is free only when you are over 70yr old. I have shingles twice, once over my eye and my face looked like I had had a stroke, it was awful. Ended up in hospital as I have Systemic Lupus and am on immunosuppressants. Still have a whopper of a scar, but luckily no loss of vision. That poor man with the shingles, that was terrible!

In the US, the shingles vaccine is not covered by insurance until you turn 60 years old.. in most places it costs more than $600, otherwise.

@@glancycorner7425 I think if you are immune compromised it can be covered with prior authorization. He has leukemia and now that he’s had shingles once he will be much more apt to get them again. Here in the US I’m pretty sure with proper paperwork they could get it covered

Joy, if he is immunocompromized, the vaccine may well give him another dose of shingles because of the leukemia. He no good white blood cells to fight off infections or virus or fungal infections. I wish it could be so. 😢

Chron's is debilitating and can be extremely serious. It is lifelong and mostly presents in young males, and can be fatal depending on whether and how it is treated. Not a disease to get in the US.

My grandson developed Crohns by 18 mos old. It’s been very trying on him and his parents. He’s on a new Med that suppresses his immune system. His flare ups have been fewer. Hes 4 now

The patient with UTI has also had his prostate checked as well , and also the dr should examine the patient , i cant believe these doctors are working in england 😮

So Franke needs heart surgery but they’re not sure if he can have it because people still need to “talk about it”. Yeah, socialized medicine is great. That baby would have had heart surgery at birth here. I know because my great niece was born with a hole in her heart. It was fixed at three days old. Ridiculous. And sickening.

Not all “holes” in the heart need to be repaired at birth. Some are not detected until after birth. Some folks can live their entire lives without repair. Surgical repair depends on multiple things: Is the hole between the atria or ventricles; how large the hole is; how it is impacting heart function; is the patient healthy enough for surgery, and more. I’m a retired open heart surgery nurse.

@@glancycorner7425 they admitted that the baby was born with the condition and that it requires surgical repair. That he has been in and out of hospital since birth and that they were supposed to finally do the required surgery the following week. Then went on to say it probably wasn’t going to happen because there had to be more “talks” done before it would be approved. But then again this is the same country where a family dr isn’t able to order an MRI and allowed a man with back pain to waste away for an entire year until he succumbed to cancer, so there’s your socialized health care 🤷‍♀️. I’d personally rather get a job where insurance is offered, pay my premiums and choose a health plan of my own.

Most people don't know about shingles... in the USA, if you had "chicken pox" as a child, you carry the shingles virus. You should talk to your doctor. There is a shot that can be given, which will stop the shingles virus from appearing. 😊

I'm in the US and just got the shingles vaccine...2 shots given 30 days apart...I'm hoping they work. Those I've spoken to who've experienced this virus all say it's horrid.

The shots were not available when I got shingles (not enough produced at the time). I was able to get my two shots a couple of months after I had it. Been 4 years now and it hasn't shown up again yet.
