Shinobu, a professional potter in the city I live in recently died from silicosis due to the clay dust. I don't know if you normally wear a mask while sanding but didn't just for this video, but I recommend you do. Also, the cups are absolutely beautiful! Very entertaining video.

they are so gorgeous. you are so generous with sharing your process and I admire you greatly! I especially love the matte / stony texture you achieve with your glazes. Would you ever be willing to share a bit about these glazes? Love, Zelda

Organic yet refined. Simple but not easy. Rustic yet elegant. Useful yet sensual. Material yet ethereal. ♥

Love that handle technique! It's so different than western potters. It think you have more control with the shape which would be good for less experienced potters like myself.

I have never been to Asia, but when I see pottery made in Asia, I know if it is Japanese or not. The Japanese have a very clear design skill of their own. You can even see the sharpness of the Japanese alphabet and the curved movements in the alphabet in the designs. I think the Japanese have shown very clearly in their arts and crafts that they are a unique nation compared to the rest of the world. Their products are not only functional but also have a sharp elegance. This is very, very interesting. I think it's interesting that they have traditionally functionalized art. That's my opinion and I don't want to be disrespectful. I would like to see more of your videos because it makes me think.
