This reminds me that I need to discipline myself to sit down and make the same form over and over, and be willing to destroy everything I make, in order to get true control of the clay. It's a very common exercise for potters learning in the Asian cultures and that's why once they reach that journeyman to Master status, they're so amazing and intuitive when they make things!

I'd very much like to know if it was slip you used first on the unfired (greenware) or something else? Also, I understand the sanding and scouring of the black glaze was for matte look and feel, and possibly to showcase the crackle, but in the video the sheen between the crackles look golden, was this the after treatement or the underglaze? Are you not using stilts bc of high temperature? Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing 🙏❤️

Beautiful! Is that all under-glaze? is the clay still fresh before he glazes the outside? At some point he seems to gently reshaping one of them just after the outer blue glaze is done...
@gnarbeljo8980
@gnarbeljo8980 Жыл бұрын
I know, right? I can't figure out if it was underglaze or slip (and that's why he removed a lot of water) on the greenware. Also I'm uncertain what he did besides sand and scour the outer glaze to get what looks like a golden sheen between the crackles in the black glaze? I wish there had been a little info. Also seems labourious to remove the clay dots instead of using stilts, what's that about?
