I think Shinsekai Yori will always have a special place in my heart no matter how much years passed.

They played this music in the first few scenes of the anime while they show young Saki and friends playing with no coloring of the characters and also showing how the first of their kind was on a rampage. This was so incredible because it gave you the emotional bond to this music from the start. Its perfect because you can hear this song in like every episode of the anime, so that you will always remember what they can do.

This is a very defining song for Shinsekai. Truly wonderful. It gives me a very warm, homelike feeling. "Ie ni kaeru" means "Going home". Played many times throughout the series.

This music was used in films dating back to 1929 ("Halleluja"), where it got the "Going Home" title.

It's originally from Antonins Dvoraks "From the New World" Symphony. A Czech composer who journeyed to America and created a composition based on the sounds he thought encapsulated the new world from spirituals (African American) influence, Native American, and ofcourse European. You can hear in the piece his also his homesick feelings towards his home in Bohemia. Truly my favorite composition because of all the emotion and meaning within it.

Dvorak's 9th Symphony, "From the New World," 2nd movement, "Largo." The anime is named after his symphony. I imagine the author of Shinsekai Yori began seeding the ideas for the story from this piece and the images it brought to her mind.

@MrMuel12053 жыл бұрын
Antonín Dvořák, a Czech composer, wrote this while he was living in the US (hence the New World). It comes from Symphony No. 9 in E minor, "From the New World", Op. 95, B. 178. Neil Armstrong took a tape of it with him to listen to as he travelled to the moon. You may also recognise the 4th Movement (just search Dvorak 9th symphony 4th movement in KZbin) as the inspiration for John Williams' Jaws theme (though the original is far more epic). In fact, here is a recording of that with just, y'know, the Pope watching in his throne: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIenoJl4e9mpraM

@ProkopGdansk10 жыл бұрын
It's not on official Shinsekai Yori OST, because OST means Original Soundtrack and this song isn't originally from Shinsekai Yori, it's composition made by Dvorak long time ago. Partly it's cut from a longer Dvorak symphony, actually it's cut from three versions to avoid legal claim ;)
