Imo Grid 1 is STILL better, but this one isn't that bad either. It's.. playable. My personal nitpicks would be curbs being overly sensitive, even the ones you're supposed to use, not being able to have some sort of visual bodykit options (I wanted to add a wang to s2000), damage and crashing being severely toned down, being forced to have a teammate in Free Play (for example you can't have a 4 car race with 3 opponents, it has to be your butt-buddy and some 2 other random dudes) and if you're playing on keyboard - they didn't bother to make the transition for steering/braking/throttling smooth - instead it goes from 0% to 100% in an instant.. and this is NOT a game that kindly reacts to such sharp turning/braking/throttling.

Realistically they could've just taken the same untouched game engine from the first GRID, slapped more tracks and car models into it and I think a ton of people would've been happy. The biggest downside for me of the 2008 GRID Game was that it felt a little bit like a Codies, 'Look at our fancy tire barrier physics' demo. Just build upon what you have, don't overcomplicate it. It's the same issue I have with GTA games.

I have not played GRID 1, I have played the absolute shit out of GRID 2. Grid 1 looks unpolished with all the 3d WordArt text popping out at you. GRID 2 was where its at. Hopefully GRID 2020 can fix Autosport's mistakes.

Being serious, if it wasn’t for Race Driver GRID, I wouldn’t have become a big fan of racing/driving games. Yeah I played Nascar Games way before and some Gran Turismo 3 as well as Burnout & Need for Speed, But GRID opened my eyes to a bigger world and I’m excited for the new one. I even bought the recent Switch port of Autosport and despite it removing a few things it’s still a good game in my opinion and the port runs well.

I'm hopeful for this game, but I absolutely hated the way that GRID 2 played with all the cars feeling almost as floaty and unpredictable as the cars in The Crew 1. But, because ShinyProtogen pulled through, I'll give it a shot anyways.

It can't be a simcade. To me a simcade is game based off real life that has tried a little bit to be close to real life. Gran Turismo, Forza Motorsport, Shift 2 (to make sure we are not getting into the Project Cars debate), are simcades. But this looks more like an interpretation of reality than anything else. Physics are totally arcade - which I don't care as long as it's good fun like 2008.
