I think they may have split the series, meaning that dirt 5( and any games that come after)is Arcady while dirt rally 2.0( and any games that come after) is a sim. I’m not sure tho

I was ......well close to the king at Dirt 2 every night I would host their was only one person who could consistently beat me ! He was the nicest person in rallcross/rally our main discipline's if he got to far ahead he would stop & wait so everyone could finish even waiting at the finish line letting you pass. Me in my MK2 Escort also one of the few who could even drive it seriously if you have dirt 2 just fucking try to be constant in that It took me the better part of a year to fully master driving it without flipping 1000000 time's or spinning out tiny tough stiff & chubby just like - ANYWAY ! Him Evo 10 or Colin McRae R4. Don't know if he ever had had to master it the evo 10 EASY a baby could drive it & DID ! We both used the RS2000 because you just MUST ! Then I saw him playing dirt 3 a few month's b4 release spoke to him for the 1st time in maybe 3 year's He was a dev for dirt 2 !? ! AND ! HE WAS A 80something YEAR OLD MAN FROM FINLAND WHY WAS I BORN AN AUSSIE I NEVER STOOD A CHANCE ! LittleGrandpa Dam those Finn's !

10:45 Just wanted to say that these cars actually do that in real life too. They have such an insane power to weight ratio that it's very easy to pick the front wheels off the ground even at high speeds. They don't do standing starts because of this...and well, the fact that there's no clutch or gearbox.

I was 6 or 7 when he died. I'm not gonna lie, it had strong impact on me. I was this weird kid collecting toy cars replicating real cars, reading motorsport magazines and watching WTCC/WRC/F1/DTM instead of cartoons on TV. And I still remember when rallycross event in Slomczyn was interrupted between races by the news. The rest of races, as still great were really hard to enjoy.

It kinda looks like Dirt Showdown to me, especially the driving model etc. All in all I just feel like Dirt 2 had the best mix of everything and it's a shame they couldn't have just built off of that :/.

Dirt 2 but with rally stages twice as long as those that ended up in the actual game would be the perfect recipe, but every single sequel is getting further and further away from that, in a way or another. And this one, dear god, I don't know what it is... it looks like they are targeting the Fortnite folks, and I feel like Dirt was not the best franchise to pick to appeal to 9 year olds...

Shiny, I'd just like to say that intro was... Was simply beautiful, especially the bit about the release date of Dirt 1 relating to McRae's death. If he were still alive, I'm sure he would approve of how much the CMR/DiRT series has changed and what it's become. Colin was a master of his craft, and while he spent about as much time on his roof as he did his wheels, there was a fire - a _passion,_ that burned bright in him. Rest in Peace, McRae. Right 40 into pearly gates, over crest - jump, don't cut.

Good review! I don't know if Sprint car racing is a thing in your country but it's epic to witness in the US. Imagine a field of 20 to 30 of these 900+bhp V8s roaring by in close unison...sideways. They're also VERY violent when (not if) they crash and you can see for yourself in many YT videos. Congrats on beating that challenge event in the demo, it's not an easy sport despite it being "turn left around an oval for many laps" as it's all about the lines, finess, and being outright confident you can throw your car into a corner and not cartwheel in a horrific crash.

Why yes, even racing in Finland in WRC 8 gives me a heart attack on every corner. also yeah the part where you hit a tree and break a couple controllers is very relatable, i can have a clean race for 8 minutes then flip when my rear right wheel ramps off of an invisible rock hitbox

I haven't really played any other tracks than Finland ( Kakaristo ) in Dirt Rally, that track is my favourite, I even managed to get 20 something place on the leaderboard with the Lancer EVO X.
