Great Overview in general, however: I'm pretty certain that the part about explosion radius vs sig radius (1:28 ish forward) is reversed: So long as your explosion radius is SMALLER than the signature radius of the target, every part of the explosion will hit the target. If the explosion Radius is LARGER than the target sig radius, part of the explosion will "miss" the target and not do damage. Kinda like a less focussed explosion. Assuming a stationary target, a torpedo might do less damage to a frigate compared to a light missile, because while the torpedo deals more base damage (potentially), the explosion is so big that most of it blows past the target, not applying damage after all. A light missile might deal full damage to a frigate, if it does, it will also deal full damage to a battleship. However, the battleship would also take full damage from torpedos, so you would do more damage with the torps. With some trickery you can make torpedos apply surprisingly well, i believe rigor catalyst rig? One of them modifies Explosion radius. Now, if a frigate or destroyer is running a microwarpdrive (sig radius bloom) and is webbed (speed reduced) /target painted(sig radius bloom), suddenly torpedos can apply scary amounts of damage to frigates and destroyers. Cue the Phoenix and her mighty Rapid torpedo launchers.

Glad you liked it. I try to make quality resources that focus on completeness over shorter. I was always frustrated that no one had put everything about fitting into one cohesive concept. After a year of _not_ making a video about it I finally decided to do it live.

One thing you didnt touch on that is important for both shield and armor tanking is resistances are very important. Not only do they reduce the amount of damage you take in the first place, but indirectly effect how much dps you can repair through. At 50% resists a repper that reps 100 dmg will actually counter 200 dps, but if you have 90% resists that same repper will counter 1000 incoming dps.

Pretty sure I knew everything about all the modules discussed here. However, I think you nailed it in your first point. Before you think about the ship, (or the modules too), you first need to consider what the role of the vessel is. What you want to do. I think your second presentation should focus on this point a lot more... Need to zoom out to see the bigger picture.

@Ashterothi2 жыл бұрын
@@jameswohler985 Yeah I want to make follow up videos with specific topics/build concepts. That said most of the time when you see a dual tank it is in things like the Breacher. Frigates have so few hp some builds expect you to use both shield and armor in tandem. Most of the time you want to focus on one or the other thanks to resists.

@sinanuygur52732 жыл бұрын
I think you forgot ship scanners, if that module is even still in the game. Is that even a concord offence? I havent played in ages... but it shows you the cargo of the ship you scan, usually used one jump before you run into a high sec suicide gank. I think you see the icon that you were ship scanned for a few secs until the cycle ends, its a good indicator that you should steer off your course to safety. Im atm 3 hours in, and you are doing a monumental job of explaining the delicacies of ship fitting which probably scares off the most newbros after the initial introduction, especially those more interested in PvP, as most tutorials tell them to take it slow and go do some PvE. This one shows them all the tools there are, with a general idea of why they will die (XD) and how to counter it next time. Keep up the good work. ps. I do see EVE as the most hardcore pvp game as you will die alot in the begining but you will never forget your first kill where you outsmarted your opponent.

Unless things have changed significantly over the last couple years. I don't think it's fair to describe Minmatar as "shield tanking" as a general rule. Some Miinmatar ships are designed around shields and some around armor, which makes Minmatar ships a little more skill intensive than other races. Same goes doe weapons systems. While every race has some ships that use guns and some that use missiles, with Minmatar it's about a 50/50 split.

Write everything you wanna talk about down, then make a video and have it in front of you for reference. You are too incoherent. Shouldve started with basics; differences between buffer and active tank, brawling or kiting. Then go into describing each races ships. You can then mention differences between T1, T2 and T3 as you move along ship classes, but this is not as relevant as what role ship can fulfill. It was a nice attempt, and you obviously have a lot of knowledge, but properly formatting a guide would go a long way toward making a 4 hour video watchable, which currently, it is not.
