The Pollux and Castor boss fight was very satisfying considering that before Castor violently killed a slave for no reason other than speaking out and during the fight Pollux deliberately and spitefully made Aletheia plummet to her death just so Kratos doesn’t reach her and then he has the nerve to say that he’s an innocent? yeah their deaths were well earned

well in Valhalla Kratos did felt regret for killing the captain. Its true hoplite hates cowardice, and it is even stricter moral code for Spartan hoplite than Athens, but Kratos never thought that not all people can fight. After deep thinking Kratoa realized that the captain is just a normal man, and the kraken is just an animal, and that Kratos showed him what a real monster looks like.

Like the boss battle that takes place on Hecatoncheires with his body getting infested by the Furies insects, warping his mouth and making giant monsters spawn out of himself to fight Kratos. Or that Final Battle with the three Furies, with Kratos battling them in a black void/maelstrom.

It's an interpretation following the series' "the gods suck" theme. When Castor died, Pollux asked the gods to share his immortality with his brother (as he was divine). The gods (probably Zeus) then conjoined their bodies as a sick, literal interpretation of the request. Too bad for them.

I must admit I had the same bias that a lot of people had about Ascension. The reason is people don’t generally like prequels. We saw the same thing with Star Wars. But God of War: Ascension is a masterpiece. The mechanics are great, the world is beautiful and the fighting is so intense that it demands you raise your level. The game does start to slow down a bit around the moving snakes but the overall pace of the game is excellent. The final boss fight isn’t as satisfying as Zeus but how could it be? If you put your bias aside and accept what the game is meant to be, you will have a truly wonderful experience playing Ascension.

@@robert4039 Personal opinion since I only played GoW2 a little and 4, and I think Ascension looks really really good, and the combat looks good too, but my opinion is that the rage meter being tied to not getting hit isn’t really a good idea. Dealing damage to add to rage meter is fine, but getting hit lowering rage meter sounds.. kinda wrong. You’d be angry because you’re getting hit, not getting calmer, in a logical sense. But for other games, rage meter doesn’t lower when you’re not hit. Promoting great play is perfectly reasonable, and maybe consecutive hits without taking damage increasing the gain of rage would be better, but the part where it drains because you’re hit doesn’t seem like a good design choice, especially for newer player who’re looking for fun before getting better.

One thing I wondered in Ascension is how Kratos was able to kill the Furies, especially wih breaking Tisiphone's neck bare-handed, WITHOUT "The Power to Kill a God". At least with Chains of Olympus the death of Persephone was with the use of Zeus's Gauntlet and the Sun-Shield. Perhaps Athena knew that those of divine blood, even a demigod, can kill their own. Overall, the prequel is alright; with Multiplayer being an interesting experiment. It kind of explains the conundrum of why the Olympians couldn't simply "erase Kratos's nightmares".

Capcom did a good job bringing all DMC from PS2 and PS3 to PS4. Heck they even port that DmC, you know the emo Dante that everyone hate to PS4 as well. Even Uncharted got all of it port to PS4, as well as having a full collection released on PS5 now

If they did that i think gameplay should be a mix of old and new. It should be about Kratos years as a spartan,training growing up to be a spartan,meeting his wife and having Calliope,going to many wars,making his oath to Ares,fighting battles in his name and ending with leaving the player as being able to kill his family in the temple.He actually had many,many adventures even before the Ascension. We should see Atreus of Sparta whom Atreus/Loki was named after,we should see him being told the stories he says to Atreus on the boat etc

Sorry to break it down to all of you but this is actually recorded through an emulator RPCS3. The graphical glitches in the video says it all and the high resolution. PS now supports at max 720p. So yeah this is played on pc not ps5.

The ripping off and stomping of Pollux was one of the baddest scenes I have ever seen in a game 👍🏼. When Pollux was dragging himself along the ground, he reminded me of Bicycle Girl from TWD. 😂

Of all the Greek saga God of war games. This has the best graphics hands down, best gameplay, best sound and even better sound effects. The only thing it's missing is the story isn't as strong as the others and it was still a great game!

I guess it was because the fans expected à sequel rather than à prequel game, because we all wanted answers back in the day so we were not interested to buy the game back then. But i dis beat it about 2 years ago and i liked it. But they learned their lesson and did GOW4

They fucked up big time with Ascension and thats ultimately the reason why we have such a tamed down story now cause they figured that no one wants the old Kratos instead of blaming themselves for failing Ascension.

Prequel Fatigue after Ghost of Sparta + they made rather weird decision when it comes to game mechanics here : Such as Rage mechanic being tied to how aggressive you play but penalize you if you're suck or playing it safe akin to DMC Style Meter instead of traditional filling up the bar and unleash it and no permanent side weapons in place of lame elemental magic powers, just to name a few Overall it feels like a downgrade at least mechanically from its previous predecessors before they ultimately doubles down to it in 4
