Hello Everyone! Today I have a demo, review, wear test and definite thoughts on the Shiseido Synchro Skin Self Refreshing Foundation.
For reference I am 45 years old with dry and dehydrated skin. I have hyper-pigmentation to cover and basic aging skin concerns.

It takes so many years to figure out what works for you and your skin. Then you hit your mid-late 40’s/early 50’s and you have to start over and rediscover products all over again. This is so interesting because I am over 50 with textured skin and I love this foundation. I applied it over replenix ultimatte sunscreen, so maybe that made the difference. But I also wanted to tell you that I got the new Fenty hydrating long wearing foundation and I love it too...I was torn between the two, so I put a thin layer of the Fenty first, and then the Shiseido on top and that was magic!!! Beautiful finish, and long lasting. Just thought I’d share...😎. Love watching your channel!!!💗💗💗

I have never seen your videos before but I'm glad I came across this one! I just ordered Shiseido foundation and I don't think I will even try it based on your wear test. I also have dry skin with texture and the last thing I need is for that to be more noticeable. That’s interesting. I was putting it on as your video came up. I’m 67 with dry textured skin. At first I though... it was a big NO. I had the same issues you mentioned. But, as it settled it got better and better. I think the coverage is fantastic. (Finding the right color has certainly been a challenge). I did add the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless filter to the high point of my face. And my final step was to use my Clarins Fix Makeup spray which is very hydrating. It’s a game changer. I highly recommend it as a final step to lock in your makeup and take away any powdery look.

I think less is more with this foundation. Simple prep, No primer or Shiseido primer only, light dusting of translucent (if required). Everyone who experienced texture seems to have overloaded their face at each step. 🥰

I just ordered this today. I'm 57 and I have texture, but I also have oily skin. It will be interesting to see how this works on me. My sunscreens also tend to make my skin shinny / tacky, wonder if that will make a difference. I'll hold on to my receipt!! :-) Thanks for your review.

Thank you for this honest and detailed review. I have dry to normal skin with the same pore and under eye texture you desribe so this foundation will be a pass for me. I have been using the Shiseido Radiant Lifting foundation in I01 and I20 for several years and love it. Medium to full coverage, your choice. Lasts all day with a perfect finish. Not dewy but certainly not matte. I powder mid day with CT compact. Love your channel!

Hello Penny! Thanks for this great review! I guess it saved me some money for I am a little bit older than you and have textured dry combination skin.. I had a sample of it and found that to be very creamy and heavy.. Only tried it on my hands though.. Because I adore the cushion version of the Shiseido synchro skin self refreshing series I was looking for another possibility.. I will skip this one for sure.. Do you know the "Glow" one?! I prefer light to medium coverage anyway...

I love this foundation, although it is a tad light. I am 53 with normal to dry skin. I prep my skin really well and add a hydrating primer. It lasts and looks great for me all day. I’m sorry that it didn’t work for you.

I'm going to help you with that effect of dry skin. Get WASO Shiseido Ginza Tokyo CLEAR Mega-Hydrating Cream (there is other non transparent cream good for night but not for under makeup) and apply makeup on it after few minutes it's going to look amazing this is what I do and I no longer have that dry textured skin. The secret for healthy looking skin is exfoliation, good night sleep and good moisturizer and the Ginza is the best so far. I don't use any serums etc only this cream and foundation but I wore this clear cream for few days to rehydrate my skin first and then tried it with foundation. I sincerely recommend it.

Doesn't dry out skin and doesn't sink in my lines/pores, beautiful satin glowy skin! Very interesting. Of all the foundations you have tried which would you recommend for a 64 year old skin with the orange peel texture issues you described. Thank you!! Lots of hydration. I still definitely have lots of fine lines there. I have had PRF injections under my eyes to help but that takes a long time so for now I just try to really keep the area hydrated. Most of my skincare (face) also goes under my eyes (I’m careful though and I do watch for irritation). That means my under eyes get some vitamin A and growth factors etc 😁 I hope this helps.!

i use(d) the original synchro skin long lasting which is now discontinued and replaced with this. from what i understand the finish/formula is very similar. from 2 years of using the original i have discovered that too much skincare and emollient hydrating products undernearth will break the foundation down. a simple moisturizer is all i use and i get very good results.

Viktigt you should skip that one. It has citrus peel oil which is sun sensitizing, carrageenan which isn’t good also linalool which isn’t good either. Sorry :-/ I wish there was a way that I could see what you have access to and I would help! Send me ingredients anytime and I’ll help 💜

I know exactly what you mean, I have dry/normal skin and oily on t zone. Nearly all the foundations do that to me on the chin, except fendi the luminous one that just came out, the channel the one they just renamed. I’m trying so hard to get rid of that texture which you can barely see if I don’t wear makeup.

Yes! I definitely did. If it had felt good I would have had to exchange the shade for sure. There were no testers when I bought it....we just held up the frosted glass bottles to my face lol Not the best shade matching technique 😂
