I really like your videos. I've seen so many people playing this or monster train who never explain what's happening or their reasons for playing their hand. You make the perfect fusion of playing and speed, sacrificing nothing. It makes it a pleasure to watch - also you have a silky voice which is just mwah haha

Timestamps for when Baalor picks up the cards and relics in the thumbnail (Die Die Die, Blade Dance, Shuriken, and Kunai): Die Die Die: (3:40) Kunai: (21:48) Blade Dance: (1:17:25) Shuriken: (1:30:27) Sorry I'm so late today, I got caught up in like fifteen different things. At least it wasn't the 56 floors of madness the Silent went through this run!

I'd like to see Baalorlord do a year challenge where basically he has to at some point say, "here, I am now confident I'll win" and he gets 1 point for every floor left if he wins, but if he loses, he loses points in some way. Would be interesting to see his ideas of when he's "got it"

On the Dagger Throw vs Predator debate, generally I prefer to take a Dagger Throw early on as it is both a strong attack and a powerful discard enabler(thus more flexible). It also functions exceedingly well without necessarily needing an upgrade, which I feel Predator does not necessarily do. I also personally have a general distaste for cards more than 1 cost, but that's a me thing and definitely not good for deckbuilding in general, but hey, we all have our faults.
@redford4ever6 ай бұрын
Predator is also a strong discard synergies enabler, or any syneries, because it creates big hand which largely increases your chance to hit a synergy in them. It's better than backflip because backlip draws two for one in the same turn, while Predator draws two for nothing in the next. So your big hand turn start with one more card and full energy. It is next turn though.
@ogolthorp6 ай бұрын
@@redford4everI love predator, but I’d say cards now are always better than cards later.
@rezuredragon6 ай бұрын
@@ogolthorp I think the beauty of Spire is that there's no "always" for every card and relic. The better cards and relics just come closer to that 'always'. Sometimes drawing 2 next turn is significant for predictable enemy patterns and you *don't* want to draw a specific card for next turn you can't afford to play.

44:53 does anyone know baalor’s logic for targeting the orb first? I usually figure deleting the sentry first is better since it’s easier and clears like a quarter of the incoming dps, as well as the dazes
@maddermax226 ай бұрын
Because if you can kill the orb quickly, the fight is basically free, so if you have the damage, it’s the best play. The problem was, he didn’t draw enough damage on the subsequent turns to finish him, and as he said towards the end of that fight, he probably should have killed the sentry first. As it was though, he sailed through it with massive block anyway.
@jordansandoval70976 ай бұрын
@@maddermax22 That’s fair. With sufficient damage, the orb is surely the more imposing target. Kill it and the fight is free. I just rarely see a deck that can kill the orb on turn one, and it gains so much block going into turn two that it seems too impractical for most decks

I went back to sts recently, thanks to you and I've noticed how hard it is for me to choose a card to upgrade. That's why I often chase rest sites so heavily and skew my route around them, perhaps to my own detriment as I dodge some elites on the way. I'd really appreciate if you overexplain why you choose which upgrade and when. Also, about youtube streaming: I've been using twitch for years but the last couple of them the entire platform became a source of annoyance, it's riddled with ads, it keeps logging me out for some reason and wants me to verify my mail constantly, I'm really not having fun on twitch so I'd rather watch you here even if you wouldn't interact with the chat.

I'm just on youtube a lot more than twitch. If I see a streamer I like live on youtube, I usually hop over to their twitch channel.
@AngelicIsight6 ай бұрын
I’m more likely to watch a KZbin stream, and I like that the streamer ignores YT stream. It makes the chat more interesting in my mind because people are more likely to just write what they think more than what they want the streamer to read, so it’s more interesting.

On the topic twitch vs yt streams. As far as I can tell yt has better video quality and is more reliable in terms of the stream itself, also pausing, a vod (but only up to 12 hour sessions) and an actual algorithm. Chatting and other interactions are way better on twitch. I am not aware how ads work on yt. Apparently there also is a way to combine your twitch and yt chat which would make it easier for the streamer to keep up.

There is another argument for KZbin streaming: Many engage with KZbin videos but don't watch live on Twitch, and may not even have a Twitch account. If folks are watching a KZbin video and the "WATCH LIVE" button came up, then the theory goes that you would increase your live viewership just because it's easier for people to click a button than go over to Twitch (the UX profession teaches us that all of us users are sufficiently lazy that small things like this make a surprising difference).
