Lara was an absolute genius with the bat but when up against extreme pace he has been rattled on quite a few occasions. Perhaps the attacking nature of his batting led to this. On the other hand guys like Sachin and Ponting had tighter techniques hence they could manage extreme pace. However on his day Lara could even smash these pacers but he was always susceptible. What an Era it was! Blessed to have seen that era! Sachin, Lara and Ponting vs such dangerous bowlers. Sadly no such head to head battles exist anymore!

Sachin hardly ever was beaten by pace barring the period between 2004-2007 when he was recovering from tennis elbow. Donald got Lara out 5 times in 5 tests on South African wickets in 1998-99. No one is denying Lara's greatness. He was a genius. One of the best against spin and fast medium but when it came to sheer pace he has been troubled often.

@@avishek438 aray bhai "fast" bowling aur "fast medium" bowling different hoti hai. The kind of excitement a fast bowler brings to the game is different than the later. That doesn't mean they're anything less than the former.

Now a days this type of bowlers are didn't produce any country... before 2011 world cup this type of bowlers are present the great Shoaib akhtar,Bret Lee and Shane Bond..... akhtar is my childhood Hero
