Thank you so so much for actually being truthful when going over the battery life. I was lucky enough to get a 3.5K OLED XPS 15 & a 4K Lenovo Yoga C940, and despite being phenomenal devices capable of handling most tasks, battery life on the XPS is like 2 hours max. (historically the yoga was ~90 minutes max, but recently it's been doing relatively well, like ~3 hours so idk) Regardless, good battery life on ultrabooks with great displays is near impossible in my findings, so it's nice to know what i'd be getting into, especially since the Studio 2 is "only" a 1440p display, you'd think the battery would be closer to outstanding.

theres something with battery life on win 11. idk what it is but my laptop's battery was getting to end of its life and I made the switch from win 11 to ubuntu and oh my god the same battery that was dying in an hour of sleep turned into lasting 2-3 days on sleep mode. its not just the sleep mode everything got improved but the sleep mode difference is incredible

I've got a RTX 4050 model. Overall I love it but for gaming, the screen response time is very low. Playing a game like Destiny 2 looks like a blurry mess at times as the screen can't keep up with the video card. No issue when hooked up to an external monitor. I was surprised by the poor response time paired with a 120hz refresh rate.

Decided between this and the G14 2024 4070 for a while. If you want a productivity device, better battery life, and don't care about tent mode / the touch screen, the G14 2024 is significantly better bang for the buck.

Do you find you use the tablet mode at all?
@kittyscreativecorner4 ай бұрын
@@ShoAndTechI don’t have the Surface, I have a Lenovo Yoga with a touchscreen and tablet mode, and I used to use the tablet mode a lot for Photoshop when I was studying art, and for digital notetaking. My high school had mandatory Fujitsu laptops we had to purchase that had a swivel hinge to put it in tablet mode, and after four years with that I can never go back to a laptop that doesn’t have a touchscreen and a tablet mode 😂 I will say I used it less when I finally got an iPad because it was less clunky and writing with the Apple Pencil is so much smoother than the Bamboo pencil I got with my laptop, but I think tablet mode in general can be super helpful for students and really anyone who likes to hand write notes, but also wants the convenience of having everything stored digitally on the cloud without having to worry about papers getting lost or taking up a lot of space. I’m very much an annotator, if I’m reading something dense I have to be able to highlight and hand-write stuff on the physical text to absorb what I’m reading, and as an English major, I get a lot of really long and dense readings. I tried printing out the readings, but after the first three weeks I had an entire two inch binder full of readings and notes for just one class. Downloading the readings to OneNote or Adobe Acrobat and using the pen to highlight and annotate while also being able to key word search was a total game changer for me. I was considering upgrading my iPad from the 9th generation just for the bigger screen and new Apple Pencil, but my iPad still works fine, and my Lenovo seems to be on its last legs, so if Best Buy can’t repair my laptop, this might kill two birds in one stone for me.

Thanks man but i believe , this form factor and this model will shine with newer intel Processors combined with Nvidia 4000 series GPU's. However i so wish Microsoft bring back the Surface book series, newer chips (CPU and GPU) will shine in that form factor.
@ShoAndTech6 ай бұрын

@agermangoose47972 ай бұрын
If battery life is the most important thing for you you should look at the Surface X lineup. They use ARM based CPUs (like the modern Apple M processors) instead of x86 (like Intel and AMD) which is so much more efficent that it's almost crazy. Just be aware that (at least for now) nearly everything is still written for x86 architecture chips which means that most, granted not all, programs will run through an emulation layer (which means degraded performance) and some programs might not work at all if you're unlucky
