Most racers goal is little or no rebound but if thats what you want, your way is much less consistent and repeatable than tuning with pistons, oil and springs.
@kylependleyАй бұрын
Pretty sure the rebound is from not bleeding your shock. All that air and pressure inside is causing the rebound. Thicker fluid just makes the piston move slower. Just do it right and buy heavier springs if you want this affect

the mind of a traxxas basher😂 good way to make your shocks leak
@TurtlefryАй бұрын
Wtf does traxxas have to do with anything? Stupid hate for the sake of hating. I've never seen anyone do this to shocks, regardless of what brand shocks..
@RobFRCАй бұрын
Mix 50wt shock oil with gear oil that's equivalent to 2,000wt?😵💫Nobody should do this, not even bashers and especially not racers.

Thanks . I guess there’s no wrong way to do shocks in that having the rebound push out or not at all or just a little . I like the rebound way making sure it fully compresses . Thanks for the diff oil tip . I’ve used Lucas engine treatment in 3s Arrma shocks with success . Chain saw bar oil is very thick too . I use 70-90 wt in my big jumpers with M2c pistons seems to alleviate that big bounce after landing to a little hop or a perfect stick many times . Especially landing on a slope . It’s fun to mess with the shocks and tires and feel the difference . Sometimes it’s a huge change , sometimes it’s not 😂. It’s always fun though . Happy holidays 🐍

Ya more then one way to do it for sure - this is usually the easiest for me though cuz I always have diff fluid on me, and it allows me to really dial in the stiffness just right depending on how I am planning on driving the car. Thanks for watching 😊

Bro you using regular gear oil.. my man was talking about Rc silicone oil. No worries when I first started racing I was using motor oil mixing it with gear oil . It perform well. Other racer will come up asking what oils I have in my rc. I was fully synthetic. Not blended.
@mathias4891Ай бұрын
Yup . Crazy as promised.
@GreyCrossfield-ts3xnАй бұрын
Yeah you can get that exact rebound from not bleeding the air out of the shick that's all that is is air on top of the oil because he didn't compress the shock pushing the air out then tightening the cap there's a rubber bladder in that cap that expands and that were you get rebound
@CobraRacingRCАй бұрын
@@GreyCrossfield-ts3xn i did bleed it out off camera. Cut for speed. Rebound is coming from the thick mixture. But you are correct if you have air trapped in without bleeding you’ll get some rebound. But just a little bit.

Awesome advice. Nice 👍🏾💯🔥

No offense ,but …Nobody bashing wants their shocks doing that. Thats why bleeders/emulsion setups is preferable. To make getting rid of that rebound on compression. Maybe for racing ,yeah. Idk ,cuz i don’t race . But that “HACK” of yours is what most old school bashers consider as a fail. Lol. Thinner oil will give you that rebound . Btw. I’m probably your age or older.
@CobraRacingRCАй бұрын
@@Chon-c no offense taken. Think I mentioned in the video that softer springs is better for bashing. So yes you are correct, tighter shocks is more for on-road, or for the track, then for hard bashing. Or stiffer in the rear and soft in the front will also work for bashing. Mostly user preference.
@Chon-cАй бұрын
@ Not softer springs is. Harder is better for bashing . But you mainly also want to have ZERO REBOUND FROM THE REBOUND IN THE SHOCKS . It’s easy to get that rebound like you got in the vid . Just put oil in it and twist the cap on without letting the oil out gas the oxygen bubbles that is under the piston because it’s drawn down to refill & needs to set for the oil to soak through the holes or around the piston itself (depending on cst thickness on how bad that happens. The Thicker it is ,the more air you’ll have in the bottom because it takes time to soak around & through the piston holes ) ,or put a lot of air in them by shaking the oil bottle before you add it in the shock & then not letting them set and bubble up to release & then throw out the diaphragm bulb in the cap if you really want it to bounce as if it has a spring inside the shock. Which you also can do too if ya want . Lol. A spring inside. But limits travel. But zero rebound stops or heavily limits bounce when landing. Which in turn means not turning over as much but also keeping wheels on the ground . Because you want the piston to resist the same or almost the same amount both ways from the very beginning of rebound .

Rebound??.. sorry not the best!!. Our's, debound setup is far better!🎉
@AboveAll-h2wАй бұрын
A correct assembly of the shocks where you bleed them out properly will never provide the "rebound" you speak of 😅 does not matter what wt oil you mix. This is just a video of an unproper shock bleed assembly 😂

Man...I watched this video, this is a rad trick✌️ then went to just check out your website to see what you have.....ended up ordering shocks I don't need shocks but the green look nice... I need to learn to stop looking...haha
