I remember the Shaq carrying Kobe remarks. The truth is, Shaq was limited. I was scared every time he had the ball. If a defender was skilled enough to stop him 5 feet from the goal, fouled him, or beat him getting the rebound, our offense got slow and stagnant. He was not a sure bucket in the post because he didn't have a Sky Hook, or a Nowitzki fade away, or a Tim Duncan bank shot, or Olajuwon's Dream Shake. Shaq had to physically dominate a defender and get the dunk, or back a guy down to within 3 feet of the goal because the 5 foot shot was a toss up, and the and 1 was a no go. I was used to Show Time, fast break offense. We weren't that most of the time because Shaq turned us into a very slow half court offense that had 4 guys watching Shaq in the low post throwing perimeter shooters out of rhythm, especially if Shaq didn't get the double team. That's how the Pistons beat us even though Shaq had big numbers, the refusal to double team Shaq.

Here is my problem with Kobe fans, the same way that the Kobe haters try to discredit Kobe by saying Shaq carried him, ya'll do the same in reverse and it gotten worse since he died. Shaq and Kobe were an all time great tandem that led great teams to great tremendous heights TOGETHER. Take either away from those teams neither win anything. If Kobe or Shaq were so great, they were teammates for 8 seasons and won 3 championships why could neither Kobe or Shaq just carry the other to the other 5? Basketball is a team sport and I am tired of people acting as if one "superstar" does it "all by themselves". It is a stupid narrative. I have never seen one player win a basketball game lest on a championship by himself.

Before LeBron had to save his career by forming a Superteam, In 2004 lost in the Olympics, In 2007 got SWEPT by the Spurs, 2008 Kobe join the the Olympics Team to save LeBron from possibly another loss, In 2009 despite having the leagues best record 66-16, LeBron AGAIN LOSES this time to Dwight Howard and the Magic.2010 Eastern Conference Finals game 5 QUITS on the City and Team and his team loses to the Celtics in 6 games and later packs his bags for Miami and finally in 2011 gets lock down by JJ Berea and loses to the Mavericks in 6 games despite forming a Superteam.These failures shouldn't have him even mentioned in the GOAT Conversation especially when there is a question of STEROID USE.

Kobe was always complaining not having support to win. When shaq left kobe couldnt pass the first round for several years. Bron reach the final with role player at year 22. Kobe at that age was shouting 2 air ball in the playoff. Maybe a little younger I dont remember but still. Kobe won with paul gasol. Without him he couldnt pass first round. Secondly He had the greatest coach ever in the game. The greatest organization with the boston celtics with the greatest owner ever driven by competiting winning. Bron brought the championship to a team that never won being the GM and with a rooky coach. Am not impressed by a guy kept complaining and disgraceful to his teamate in the media because he couldnt win
@tylerflemming7059
@tylerflemming7059 Ай бұрын
So you wanna compare the 2 conferences that Kobe and Bron had to deal with? Kobe had certified killers to deal with while Bron had not much in comparison. There is was a reason they called the eastern conference the leastern conference and if you need more evidence of this do the championship count from 2000 to about 2014. Oh and also if Bron was so great how is it that he goes back to back years with 60 plus wins and don't make the finals while Kobe beats the teams that beat Bron? By the way that 22 year old Bron making the finals was an embarrassment to the NBA and the worst finals ever.

One thing about Kobi and correct me if I'm wrong, he's the only player to retire two jerseys, two different numbers with one team and have enough achievements on each jersey worthy of being admitted into the hall of fame each. Kobe was Kobe vs his opponents when it came basketball, but he was also Kobe vs his teammates as well which was one my problems with him. But I do respect his hard work and dedication to the game. But to each there own.

Shaq and Charles Barkley both said that they liked it when teammates would yell at them to get them going they both said that most players aren't like that they even played with guys who would ball up and cry and get mad if you yelled at them but they took it as a rallying cry from a fellow teammates.

Kobe’s attitude and work habit but he wasn’t very athletic and he was a selfish offensive player. That’s why Bird, Magic, Joker, Luka we’re all better is they made teammates better and he didn’t.

Go and look up D wades quote. Kobe was the reason they grouped up on the Heat. He was at 5 while Wade had one and Lebron 0. They knew they had to come together like voltron for Kobe and the rest of the league.

verbally abusing is much better than punching on the face.. MJ & KB are just competitive that only want perfection on their games... that is what LBJ & the fanboys dont know about leadership... you have to be strict to people who dont follow instructions..

It’s unfair to compare LeBron to Kobe or MJ. LeBron isn’t cut from that cloth he’s not built that way.
