I am so sad for the puppy. I have muscular dystrophy and have been learning about the disorder. As a human, it is hard to understand what is happening. Imagine a fur baby that does not understand what is happening to him. RIP.

Losing a pet is never easy, but having a compassionate loving vet helps. We had to let go of our pup Alfie weeks ago. Seeing my vet cradle his little body and shower him with kisses and tears was just amazing. Scott serves the family and animals with so much love.

i lost my little cairn terrier of 13yrs due to heart failure - i didnt think i could go on without him. i didnt just cry, i wailed. so my dear i so feel your pain. God bless u dear. u might not want to hear this at this point in time - but when u buy the pure bred dogs like this u take a really big risk of finding health issues of this nature or another. many have been innerbred God knows how many times. i had a simular problem with a little rat terrier i had gotten - another heart break. he started having bad seizures at about 8 months. it got so bad i HAD to be merciful and give him peace. so God bless u dear i know ur pain

I was about 7 when I had to make the decision to put my young puppy down after she was hit by a car. It devastates me to this day and I am 75 now. I have had to put cats down as a grown-up and I was with every one of them when it happened. It's devastating. I have a 14 yo cat left who has kidney disease. He's on a special diet now and not sure how much time he has left. I encourage him to drink lots of water to stay hydrated and to flush out poisons from his body. He will be 15 yo in June. I have had him since he was about 3 mos old and when he goes, I will be crying my eyes put as I did with all my animals at the end.

I love these guys so much. They're so wonderful when it comes to hard news like this. When my cat was in critical care all my vet cared about was getting paid while I cried my eyes out in the waiting room. It really does go a long way to have a vet gently tell you bad news. Or any young pet who is starting out in life. Even a pet snake. I raise ball pythons, and sold a baby to people who already had snake experience. The baby was 2 months old, ate well, drank , shed normally, etc. while he was still at my home. They had the snake for 2 weeks, and he died suddenly. Cause was determined to be a liver tumor. I gave the people another baby of their choice as a replacement, and that snake is doing great. That was 3 years ago. In fact, she laid her first clutch of eggs for them last year, and all hatched successfully. (Jan Griffiths).

Not knowing how this young couple came to adopt Vince I cannot critcize, but such rare genetic issues are probably a result of poor decisions on the part of the breeder. ( They could have easily adopted him from a friend or rescue where this is merely a 💩 happens situation,too.) My main point is, I guess, Adopt don't Shop. Go to your local rescue for your furbabies, please. You will save two lives: the new family member's and your own. Peace from Deep in the ❤ of Texas.🇺🇸

@@akantiia oh, I agree. Some will do that. I think, though, it may be that the rescue has been "burned" in the past. I don't know for sure. I work with a local rescue group as a volunteer and foster, and I was turned down about 18 months ago by the shelter we work with. It worked out because a couple of months later our president posted about a sweet, terrified chi mix at the pound that would be euthanized due to lack of space. I adopted Desi and that was the best day for both of us. If I had gotten the other dog, I wouldn't have gotten my darling Desireè.

Agreed, but still be careful. Animal Rescue saves dogs from abusive breeders when they can, so medical problems can still pop up. If you want a specific breed, do your research 1st and only by from breeds with above excellent standards for the dogs the rear. (Example, pug breeders that mix long nosed dog breeds in from time to time as means of producing pugs with less or no debilitating breathing problems.)

My heart breaks for Karina and Gaz especially as this was their first dog, what a sad story. I've lost many dogs over the years, however, most of them were a good age when they passed. The one I remember most though is the loss of my first rescue Great Dane to Wobblers Syndrome at the age of 4 years. I'll never forget the pain he suffered on the way to the Animal Hospital and having to make that dreadful decision 24 hours later. I send healing thoughts and prayers to Karina, Gaz and Scott. Heartbreaking. I wonder if Vince's brothers and sisters were checked for this, or he was a lone case. Either way, maybe the breeder of Vince should test their breeder dogs. Vince's owners took the best care of him, but there was no way to see this coming. I thought he didn't look normal when I first saw the episode where this story was featured. Frenchies are plump, lively little things, not like this. I hope his owners had it in their hearts to adopt another puppy in need of a great home. RIP Vince. You fought so hard. (Jan Griffiths).

We got two puppies from a litter and also had an older dog. It was nice having two puppies from the same litter bc you can compare their progress. One of the puppies wasn't thriving as well as the other and it turns out she has multiple medical problems. She's thriving today but we thought we'd have to put her down for a moment and my whole family broke down crying. She was only 5 months old. We would have done anything for her.

The veterinary field is not an easy field to work in. Most of us pour our entire hearts into it, and it's impossible not to grow attached to our patients. We can only hope that both animals and their caretakers can see and feel how much we genuinely care. Things like these are absolutely devastating, and we can only hope to give our patients a loving and pain-free remainder and end of their lives.
