I had to laugh when Scott said 'good news we've got a bladder'. The first time I heard that comment at my vet's clinic I was startled. I asked why they thought she wouldn't have a bladder. They then explained that it meant that the bladder was full and they could extract a sample.

I am so thankful that the koalas will be ok. I'm so saddened by the fact that the koala population is still declining even after the wildfires. I see these videos and I just want to fly to Australia and give them all some TLC. They are my favorite animal, although I've never come in contact with any living here in the US. I know the sound the make is very strange and someone said once that they were not that great of an animal, but they are so cute and look so cuddly that I don't care:) I'm thankfully that there are places that help the injured and sick ones.

They are trulely precious. It scarey to think of a world without them. Hope you get to come here one day, go to a wildlife park or Zoo and get to home one. Very cute and the ones in Zoos are often cuddle but not the wild ones. I got scratched once by a youngster while volunteering at a Zoo simply because I was putting eucolpytus leaf into the area for them and the youngster called Mango tried climbing up my leg to get to the leaf 🤣. Hurt but ucky not a bad one, he kept following me around until I had all the leaf ready for them. 😍🤣

Me neither. I'd absolutely love to hug a precious koala. They only time I've ever seen them nasty, is when mating. They are lil monsters then. Girls don't want to and boys will bite and do all kinds of mean things to girls, until they get what they want. I guess alot if human and animals alike have the same problems.

I'm glad that vets and sanctuaries takes great care of all animals they're specialised to care for - even all the endangered ones 😍👍 It just touches my heart that our faulty actions on earth like cutting trees and such, has resulted in animals like Koalas featured in this video, having less homes than they used to, as told by the staff from Wires etc. 😭 I can only cross my fingers, that at least some of the Koalas will survive and be able to have babies to make the population grow a little in the future 😥🤞

My late mother visited her sister who lived in Perth, Australia in the 1970s. This was known to be a major disease among Koalas back then so nothing to do with floods. Just as in humans Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease. They even say that in the video. Such a shame that the lovely Koalas are still succumbing to it.

i hope the lady stops breeding them. it's clearly unethical and dangerous to the mothers' health and well-being, and there's no need to breed more dogs when there are already so so many in need of homes to begin with. i understand she's been doing it for decades but this should end quickly if she truly loves german shepherds and values their health.

Maybe she shouldn’t breed *that* female. There’s too much demand for purebred dogs. Work yourself to increase demand for shelter dogs & find a way to reduce THEIR reproduction, & the demand for purebred animals should naturally decrease. Less demand, less supply produced.

One more comment.... I don't understand people that breed their animals when there are so many homeless pets that are looking at the death sentence everyday. Someone told me it was just supply and demand, but I think it's about money with purebreds and irresponsibility with non-purebreds. I try not to judge, but it breaks my heart when I think that the planned breeding and refusal to fix your animal could prevent or even contribute to the death of the homeless animals 🥺

Stop habbitat destruction is the big one but people are greedy and don't think that will happen. Also we need to educate people about there rapid decline and teach them to look out for sick Koala's, they are also getting hit by cars alot and attacked by dogs. If something big does not happen to save them they will be extinct in the wild within ten years. 😭😭 (I used to volunteer at a Zoo and I am also a wildlife carer).

I'm wondering why they would need to wait for a confirmation of chlamydia to start on treatment for it when it is that obvious in the koalas. Human doctors put it simply: If you believe that someone has a treatable with antibiotics VD, treat until confirmed that it is not that VD in question.
@GCKMimi
@GCKMimi Жыл бұрын
My thought on this is that because the antibiotics can effect the bacteria in the koalas' gut as well as the chlamydia, they want to be absolutely sure it IS chlamydia before they start the antibiotics so they aren't unnecessary harming the bacteria the koalas actually need to digest their food.
