SHOCKING iPhone 14 Pro Max Problems!

After owning this iPhone 14 pro max for the first week, I am a bit disappointed in the "upgrade" this year as some things actually feel like a step backwards compared to the iPhone 13 pro max.

I feel like some of the battery drain is from the new iOS 16. Because I updated my 13 pro max to the newest iOS and it gets really warm, the battery seems to go down a lot faster, and been having some whacky issues with a few other things. Hopefully it’s just an update issue that can be resolved.

Knowing that the iphone 14 pro max has double the brightness of 13 pro max and have the same battery life, when i set my 14 pro to 50% brightness i got double the battery life😊

Its only double brightness outdoors, allegedly, but in my experience it has not been true.

The 13pro max is the best of the last iteration of iPhones…this newest iteration will take maybe 1 to 2 more generations to get to where it should be. Overall even with these problems it’s still the fastest processor in a phone and the battery life is truly all day. I have 13pro max amazing phone.

The brightness of my 14 Pro is better outside than my 13 Pro was. That's the only thing I can dispute.

Wish I could say my experience is the same. It hasn’t been getting as dim as I showed him the video but it also hasn’t been as hot lately so I’m pretty sure that’s why.

it's not a downgrade you need to give it time. The new ios needs to settle, its in the learning mode right now. It will settle. Every new update is the same problem and ppl dont understnd and complain, hot,battery drain - it all settle after a few weeks.

Yeah I hope that's the case and I know there's always bugs when they release a new iOS the problem is you only have two weeks to return the phone and there's not really a way to know if some of these things are iOS issues or problems with the actual device

I found a solution and that was by getting a galaxy fold 4, I hope to come back to apple once they start innovating again.

@@majestic2569 lol that trend will continue as well, as Apple continues to expand their os you will see the same growing pains android took, the difference will be the features will be half baked and never quite pronounced, sad ending to what was a good run, mark my words either the price will go down while slightly losing customers and or the prices stay the same while significantly losing consumers, this is a videographers first choice but for the public market people are not going to continue to look forward to small camera feature upgrades.

@@TheMrreese24 First time ever owning and android phone after being an apple customer my whole life, I kept an old iPhone x to slowly make my transition and find all the work arounds on the android. But so far I don’t really see myself going back to apple anytime soon, my phone is no longer boring, restrictive and plus its super fast responsive.

Wait for ios 16.1 update to solve some of ur issues. For that lower brightness that u mentioned, you need t o disable Auto brightness from the setting app.

Yes I'm hoping the next software update will fix some of these things as it usually does. So far it doesn't seem to have any physical defects. I already have the auto brightness turned off I always adjust my brightness manually

If I have a problem, I just phone Apple Support and work it out until it's worked out on the phone. That's why I like AppleCare, I pick up the phone at any time and report anything that I find frustrating, such at the always on going out, picking up a charged phone that's dark, dark phone in sunlight, battery life not panning out. Then if you can't sort things out, get a replacement.

Just bought a 13 pro max new as I thought it was so close to the same. Amazed at battery life, but I'm coming from an 8 plus. Finally gave up on the idea Apple would have a finger print reader in a larger phone

About the brightness thing, for me it's working fine, i'm charging it while driving in the car and the sun hitting the iPhone all the time it, never dimmed that much like you showed in the video, i recommend to replace it from Apple

Yes I may have to get a replacement. I'll be shooting a lot with it today again outside and if it does it again, I'll be getting a replacement. Since I recorded that clip, there have already been 2 iOS updates, lets see if it fixed it.

I recently upgraded to a 14 Pro Max from a XS Max and while it was a big upgrade in every aspect, I’ve been underwhelmed with the battery life just like you. If Apple is going to advertise the same exact if not slightly better battery life than the 13 Pro Max, don’t blame us customers for having high expectations. If its a software issue, they should just simply extend the return or exchange period till when the software is highly optimized!

Possibly I was thinking of exchanging it for another one but I've seen some other problems people have had that could be even worse like the camera issues so I'm a little bit afraid to exchange it and get one that has even more problems

If you’re having issues with your 14 pm why bother buying a new one when the 15 pm is coming out next year! I still have the 13 pro max and I have no issues with it! I’m just gonna keep it for at least another year until the next year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max! As far as the battery life goes, it is a huge step back from my 13 pro max and I mean A HUGE STEP BACK FROM MY 13 PRO MAX

Sorry you’re going through that. It could be an iOS 16 issue. I’m in the process of getting an iPhone 14 pro, but currently have a XS. As soon as I updated to iOS 16 on my XS it was giving me issues. iOS 16 was so glitchy they had to patch it with an iOS 16.0.2 update. So far so good although I’m worried about the data transfer from physical SIM to eSIM. I hope you get it resolved.

Don't worry about the e sim transfer, its pretty easy as long as your carrier supports it. But yes a lot of this might boil down to iOS issues.

The reason why the iPhone 14 PM has worse battery life because it has some features like dynamic island and always on display, yes always on display 24h eats up 5% battery but dynamic features are always running on the background eating up more battery and certain refinements are causing this phone to have worse battery, we needed bigger battery and software updates should make a difference but it's not possible for the battery to get as good the 13 pm. Dynamic island eats battery significantly.

Coming from 11 Pro, 14 Pro battery life is a huge gain for me. No comparison, especially in standby mode.

@@willwhit5742 Just the Pro, not Pro Max. Max is too big to carry in pants pocket. From 11 Pro, definitely a nice upgrade. 3 generations of camera improvements, battery and the processor, not to menttion the new color.

That’s a tough call because the 13 is still excellent and if you want to save the money I would go for the 13 Pro but if you want the newest device and don’t mind some of the quirks, I showed in this video, then go for the 14

My iphone 13 pro max display is also white for no reason. I'm not the only one. It was the worst thing many people had to face. By now most people in the world have lost faith in Apple products💔. Think twice before spending a lot of money. I hate apple product 👉🍎📱🖕🤬 Don't buy💵💰

One thing I can tell you if you get the new iPhone 14 pro max is shut off your auto brightness. They moved it from the display and brightness folder to the accessibility folder under display and text way at the bottom. Also with my always on display off my iPhone 14 pro max the battery seems to be on par or better then my iPhone 13 Pro.

Thanks for sharing that tip! I have also since turned off the always display, but still the battery life is worse than my 13 pro max, especially when I shoot a lot of video with it.

I take it for the battery life. Me coming after an galaxy s10plus. If the battery is not the way they have said it is ... ill return it and order an 13promax instead

Speaking of the battery life I've seen other videos where they say that the always on display doesn't affect battery life but I turned mine off for the past couple days and I think it does. I've been getting better battery life since I turned it off

Hi just watched you video and I’m having the same problems with the dark mode not changing and having to do it manually and in safari and my screen keeps glitching when changing Home Screen it’s gone black and you can only see the bottom half of the screen at a weird angle, really thinking of sending it back , oh and keyboard went blank I’m not impressed
