There is a lot of "I know how to do it better" folks out there. The fact of the matter is, the more scenarios you prep for the better you will do should you be caught in an actual knife fight. Another good thing to remember is to be Creative, you are not limited to whats on your person. Your environment will be your weapon. Thanks for the video!

Kali Center I real enjoy your videos. I trained the knife a lot in the Army as a variation of bayonet fighting so I know some footwork and I really got out of how you showed the weapons being used as the same motions as empty hand. Your videos have gotten me interested in training again. I have studied the staff as my first weapon, I’m interested in seeing more Kali staff technique.

I love the Karambit, the hook is useful for so much more than fighting. And everyone remember, we don’t have nerves exposed on the ulnar side of our arms, making it perfect for striking.

Make sure you hit the arm straight down. Any curve when you hit will make the arm spin around to your head. I have pretty strong forearms from JKD and Karate so I didnt release the knife. I Realty tried to stab the other guy and he didnt hold back ON his strike. Most training partners are to respectful, I tell people not to be. I go to the weak side slam down, grab the arm and close the gap then throw him down. I think Arnis needing to just return to simple movements.

I like the idea of stab the forearm, stab the forearm, grab the elbow, bring down arm, cut thumb, stab the hand, if the knife is still in the hand somehow disarm, stab the armpit, pop elbow up, bring arm into come along, cut the arm, then stab either the sternum or the neck. Assuming he's still standing during the while sequence lol. I'm not a huge fan of the knees, though I'm sure they work, and I think every opportunity to block should be an opportunity to stab, just don't miss.

It's really interesting to actually see these techniques in an actual street knife fight when your enemy's throwing and stabbing wildly and adrenaline is all running high.

This is just martial arts. This is not knife fighting.
@ives35724 жыл бұрын
@@kalicenter Yes, just martial arts, and martial arts should be effective and applicable most especially to situations implying fights. I'm not saying that your martial arts is not effective and applicable to situations implying fights, though.

@@ives3572 This is just a drill in which one person attacks and the other blocks and counter attacks. Nothing here is set in stone. It's about learning techniques that are your tools just like an mechanic has several tools at his disposal. It's about flow, footwork, proper mechanics, etc. Take it as a lesson and try to learn and observe from the video. Also, it doesn't need to look like a street fight here. As Paul said, yes there are many ways you can with this and where you target your attack and if you know what's going on a drill could be turned into hundreds of combinations. Blade-on-blade fighting would be an absolute last resort but some people, ...and some threats to your life are rough enough to take multiple bullets before going down. Sure my Smith and Wesson Revolver would be my first resort when faced with a knife attack but it might not kill or stop the threat right away, infact only after they take a few bullets first would they be moving slow enough for me to do this. We can all say "I'll just shoot 'em!!" Instead of doing this but you might have to do both with a truly committed killer.

After the disarm and stabbing him in the chest, everything else just seems like you’re toying with him at that point. 😉

You should never give your training partner their knife. Very bad habit to get in to. I know, I know....you’d never do that in real life. However, a police officer in Los Angeles some years ago, had a firearm pulled on him, he performed a text book disarm, and then gave the firearm back and promptly got shot to death. Why? Because that’s what he’d done in his self-defense class for years, so he could practice again. Just something to think about.
@strikingtiger-filipinomart50434 жыл бұрын
@Gblues, that's a pretty messed up mistake giving back a weapon that someone is trying to kill you with. Maybe then, each students picks their own weapon after the disarm in training to avoid the habit of returning the weapon to your attacker.
