I incorporate simple knife fighting techniques in my self-defense training, because knives can definitely be used for defensive purposes.

Started my double knife training two days ago with "every knife fighting fundamental". I love it. Almost got down the techniques. Having a little trouble with perfecting the stab to slash movements. I will begin to practice these techniques tomorrow. I look forward to implementing some weave movements. Peace. God bless.

Towards the end of the video Paul mentioned that you may want to watch the video multiple times to get the technique down. He said that you can click the gear icon to access speed settings, but if you also right-click the screen you have the option to play the video in a loop. This will save you having to stop to click the replay button at end every time. 😉

It probably doesn't need to be said, but Paul did say grab SPOONS from the kitchen if you don't have training knives. Leave those steel knives in the draw!

Paul, thanks for another one of your excellent and informative videos. I really enjoy practicing Kali and how you integrate the didactical teachings of Kali as you parallel Kali with the clinical aspect of hand to hand / weapons training in a real time scenario of workouts that you instill in me. Paul, please keep them coming along.

I love watching your videos. I don't always do the same thing. I was practicing this technique, and though you were using knives, it looked like a pretty bare fists technique as well, for basic fist hand postures, so I worked it bare hands adapting where I needed too. (Sort of what I like about knife techniques is how quickly convert into basic fist boxing techniques) I may watch more of your stuff later, but not today, I set myself a goal with certain kick forms I have, and want to meet my home video goal (personal records, sort of time capsule to look back on), and a practicing goal by the end of month (I gave myself a goal of a number of repetitions to hit by the new year, between 29 kicking forms, and I am really close to it right now, so I gotta keep going). I'll check out more of your videos later.

I also practice the 3 thrusts, but I emphasize the slash, not many will continue to attack after a slash or two. If they do than thrust. Attacked several times when young, untrained but lucky.

I dont think knives are defensive because yoir assailant may not know he is being stabbed by you so it does not stop him attacking untill he bleeds out. A hit in the head, face, elbow, shins, on bone etc with a lead filled cosh can stop an assailant but not put you on a murder charge. I know this is all ifs and buts but in my part of of the world I have carried various guns/ knives etc but generaly feel better with a cosh!!!!. I have been stabbed and have had fights. It all depends on what the threat is and your competence. Ifs and buts 😁
