But very badly controlled before the fall..This is what his superiors will analyze first of all - why he fell off his horse and whether he can even continue his career as a guard rider.. Sorry, but your comment is a little funny.. 😀😀 The royal guard needs good riders - but not "pro" "calm" fallers..😁😁

Very rude people ⚡ Not funny Me personally I rode dressage and western when I was younger I prefer a western saddle because for me I could secure it more Sometimes a horse with suck in or let out air and the saddle will slide like what happened to this guy You fall you get right back on! But the saddle was bothering the horse because it was moving so it started dancing around As soon as the horse started dancing around I'd go to the side and dismount and check it out I don't like English saddles because they tend to move slip alot at least for me Side saddle now riding one of those that's another ball game But this is my experience and that was Soo rude to go take pictures ⚡🔥

You can not put a value on a good horse! I was competing in a carriage competition, on a cross country course, my error caused the carriage to tip over. I hit the ground hard, held the reins & told my horse to “whoa, stand” which she did. People running from all directions & she did not move!! Remember - they are a fear flight animal. She stood still while being unhitched from the carriage. She had a small scratch on her right hock, I broke my lower back. My injury kept me from driving her for 10 months, but we went on to compete again many times. I was blessed with her for 25 years before she passed at the age of 28. She trained me & many others, yes that is correct, I learned much more from her than she ever learned from me. I was going to start this comment with saying a well trained horse is worth its weight in gold. It is worth so much more.

Looks to me like the girth strap was too loose and that's why he slide off. Someone who tacked the horse up will be in trouble. Horses sometimes suck in air to expand their stomach. That's why once you mount the girth strap should always be checked again and tightened if need be.

One can respect and train horses every waking minute. They are an animal which spooks easily. If you ride long enough, you’ll fine yourself on the ground, unfortunately. Rider up! Back in the saddle you go! 🙂

@@mered30 Maybe called before a senior NCO/or his platoon commander to explain why he had not maintained/checked his equipment (saddle/girth strap) correctly before mounting. It could be extra parades or a loss of pay or both. Plus his fellow troopers may levy there own fine (beers in the bar).

The biggest punishment though, is going to have to be re-polishing the Helmet/Boots/Tack.

Someone forgot to do the second tighten. Saddle on. Horse relaxes, tighten up. Horse holds his breath a bit when the saddle goes on initially. Needs a second tighten a few minutes later after horse is relaxed.

Kudos to that guard, despite the pain to his neck and foot, he maintained his composure and recovered the situation like a true professional. What surprised me most, though, is how young he is, he must only be in his very early 20’s. A credit to his regiment and his family.

The horses are still arguing whether it is better to be in the guards or police.

It’s a credit to how calm the blacks usually are that after his rider came off, the horse ran a bit, then quickly settled even tho his saddle had pulled right around. Normally a horse might panic with its saddle practically under its belly, but he just stopped and waited for someone to come and get him. And as for the rider…..the fact is, with all the gear they’re wearing, it adds a good 25kg to their own weight….once he was off balance to the side enough, there was NO way he was gonna stay on. Well done that man for getting up, dusting himself off, retrieving his horse and gear and taking him in calmly and efficiently. Must have been mortifying for the poor lad with all those people filming but it’s just a part of riding horses.

Not saying this is what happened but horses will sometimes take a deep breath of air expanding their bellies as they’re being saddled. If the rider, or the groom, doesn’t check it and re-tighten the girth before the rider mounts the horse, the saddle can slip like this one did, causing the rider to fall off. Glad he wasn’t hurt more. He handled it well, though, despite what happened. 😢
