I’m on Cigna and my first mail order from Express scripts they applied the coupon and I paid $25. Then got a letter that March 1 Express Scripts would no longer apply coupons and I would have to go through a local covered pharmacy that would accept the coupon in order to get the reduced amount. So rather than $25 this refill I paid $90 for the 3 month supply. Still not terrible, but I will be looking into filling from a local pharmacy next time and see what happens.

I think a lot of doctors do not approve of the compounds. I've had three doctors, well two physician assistants and one bariatric doctor tell me they would not write a prescription for the compound version.

My insurance is covering Zep with an $80 deductible and then I went on Lilly and got their savings card therefore paying $25 per month. I believe the Zep question's were BMI of 30 or more, High blood pressure, hypertension or sleep apnea. If I recall you needed 2 of 4 or something of that nature but bottom line is that getting the card took minutes. They sent the e-card right to my phone and when I went to CVS they put it in the system and bamm!!

I have bc/bs Premera insurance in which prescription cost is tied in with the deductible which for me is $1600 a year and covers zepbound. I used the savings card that I got directly from Lilly. After the pharmacist ran the coupon, I was told it would be $550. There is no way I can afford this. I appreciate all you do to help us but please don’t give people the impression that using this card if you have coverage will cost $25. I would like to know how I can get this for only $25 if the savings card will only allow half off the original price. I have been on the struggle bus with trying to get this med authorized and waiting for the shortage to ease. I’m so disappointed.

Question: if insurance requires a prior authorization to prove you have obesity PLUS an additional obesity related comorbidity such as high blood pressure or high cholesterol for instance, what happens when the medication works so well that your labs and/or blood pressure normalize? @kday9438 It will depend on your insurance and the criteria. In my case, that was proof that previous treatments (such as Wegovy) had been tried and failed. I was prescribed Wegovy but was never able to get it due to shortages. I sent an appeal letter and stated that fact and showed that the two medications on the insurance list were not available and provided a screenshot of the FDA drug shortage list. My doctor was very helpful by calling them also. If you are on Reddit you can see a lot of information about what others have experienced with the appeal process and different insurance companies in the Zepbound sub. Best of luck- don't give up!
