Kyle, you need to add a disclaimer. I would imagine that at least seven of the keyboard experts will try to eat the Louisiana Lap weld with hot sauce concoction. However, they should be a warned. “If you eat the Louisiana Lap Weld, you will Sheet Metal”

Wow, what an exciting and shocking bit of news from Carter Hairstyling. I was thinking the headline might have been a feeble attempt at click bait. It wasn't. The Louisiana lap weld tutorial was enough to distil those fears and then you topped it off by having your wonderfully trained spokes cats show off the incredible array of merchandise available on your web site. I'm overwhelmed. Now if I can figure out how to order stuff I may have to upgrade my wardrobe and window sticker collection on my car. Thanks for making my day.

Im 62 now, but the summer I was 15, I stripped off all the trim, fixed the rust and dents on Dad's '65 Galaxie. My Dad said he was developing a complex driving it to work full of red primer spots! We paid a little extra at Earl Scheib's and it turned out fantastic, and still looked good after he sold it several years later. Say what you will about the Scheib paint, but it sure was durable. I think it was well under $200 dollars then.

Dear Kyle, thank you so much for your very informative vids, I find them really helpful. I watched this vid and decided that the Louisianna lap weld was just the job for my 1937 rolls royce sports coupe, and so I followed your instructions to the letter, except for the Louisianna hot sauce, we can`t get it in England, so I used gravy browning instead. All went swimmingly except for when my wife took the car to bingo that night..She found that she was followed by a swarm of dogs baying and tearing at the car. As you can imagine, this distracted her for a bit and she ended up crashing through the front of the bingo parlour. The car subsequentky caught fire and burned itself and the bingo parlour to the ground, along with her priceless diamond studded tiara given to her by the late Queen Elizabeth, I have just received an invoice for rebuilding work for £73547.35. I wonder if you could supply the name of your lawyer please? Just out of curiosity. Thanks again for the vids. Paul from Widnes.

That fender is a relief map of the great plains during the cretan-asious period made during the sheet metal age which happened just after the iron age and shortly before the bondo age. BTW if you mix wood alcohol with the bondo you ca set it alight after spreading which accelerates the hardening process leaving a pleasant matt black finish.

I had to laugh when you recounted the story about appeasing the god of Autobody, Earl Sheib. I recall my parents buying their first TV in 1955 and besides a "Piel's beer commercial with Animated cartoon character brothers Bert and Harry Piel, the other commercial I recall was Earl Sheib shouting at the Camera "That's right, I'll paint your car any color for only $29.95,...No ups, no extras... Coast to Coast Earl Sheib (then a map of the continental US appeared with lots of white dots across it purportedly to show the Earl Sheib locations. The last time I saw his commercial was in the '60's and his cost had risen to $59.95. The only car I ever saw painted by Earl Sheib's autobody was that of a kid in school who'd done his own body work but forgot to tape over a lot of the chrome scripts and smaller details like the keyholes, so that too got painted Blue.

Kyle, Kyle, Kyle ... You've overlooked one of the more significant bad body work techniques which is the lap, "pop" and pave. I witnessed this back in the early eighties on a rear quarter on my mom's Ford Fairmont. The totaled panel ( that's another story) was mostly cut out, the new panel lapped in the door and trunk openings, pop riveted in place and then paved and finished. Astonishingly until you opened the door or the truck lid it looked pretty good. Bet you never saw that one!😅

Those stickers would of come in handy a few weeks ago. Headed to my truck to go to work and drivers side window was shattered. Just a small hole bottom of the window. But raging, climb into the truck close the door and glass sprinkling down. Drive a block and decided to roll down the window, cause I couldn't see out the side. Shattered glass stayed in place as the window track went down, only more fell out. Of course it started to rain before I got to work. Nephew said why wreck a window and then not go through the truck. That just made me angrier. It was pointless and cost me

Does the Louisiana hot sauce promote faster drying of the bondo? I always try to weld the clamps to whatever I'm welding it makes a stronger weld, you can just cut and grind later ,it also helps keep your clamps in new condition because you have to keep buying new ones but also creates jobs for people to make them. All around good for the economy
