as a trained archaeologist myself, one of the best-organized and illustrated videos of any kind I can remember seeing, well done. I personally visited at least half of these areas, wondered at Warrens Gate and Golden Gate, and never had the full picture (and I have studied a LOT of related videos). I would love to visit this place. I'm not Jewish, but my husband was. He had been there and it must have been very special because he never talked about it- it obviously changed him in someway very private.

@@maryhirsch7170 when I first set foot on the plaza, a loud thunderclap completely shocked me when there were neither clouds nor rain. Half an hour later, as I stepped into the road called the stations of the cross, one of the heaviest sudden rains I have experienced accompanied the storm that rolled in and literally flooded the narrow road in a torrent for about ten minutes. As a Christian myself, the majesty of the place was tangible in so many ways, and as a student of the history, the miracles of Jerusalem are unparalleled. If you can ever make the pilgrimage, it will not disappoint you. If you become an armchair archaeologist as I now am, sit close to a big-screen 4k TV, and youtubes aplenty will make you feel you are there. My German father Hans Calmeyer saved a great many Jews from the Holocaust, and so I have another great affinity there, but any Christian (and even non-Christian) can appreciate what God had in mind for Jerusalem and for all of humanity.

Did you realize sitting at the mount of olives an looking at Mt Moriah,the thrashing floor the temple mount that to your left was Salem then Caanan and old Jerusalem . That valley to the left is valley of death the Jehosaphat the kings valley an where David wrote psalm 23. I don't know about this but many believe your looking at Eden there. The Kidron valley directly in front of Mt of Olive used to be the Kidron river. I bet you would love spending time at the Sea ( lake) of Galilee with all the excavation going on there with what they believe to have in last couple of years found to be Bethsaida.

I went to Holy Land last February for two weeks joining a pilgrimage. It was a very memorable experience for me like the Garden of Gethsemane, Jordan River, Western wall, Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, the Church in Cana and etc. I want to go back there and once again experience the holy place of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm not sure those tunnels had been opened for visitors yet in 2012.... I was there in 2015 and we walked the tunnels, but I think I remember the guide mentioning that their opening was fairly recent at the time. But I could be mistaken.

In 1967, this area was in a state of rubble. I was 16 years old. I supported the local community of Hertselia Pituach. It was a unique opportunity for a non jew. This community was housing for world embassy families and foreign civilian workers. Jerusalem was a mess after the 6 Day War and the country was in disarray. It is always interesting that the Israelis bounced back with vengeance! I am 72 now and I miss the adventures!

I live in my Tribal village setting in the rural communities in the highlands mountains and love Israel and its people with the Bibilical History growing up hearing about a Saviour which God send to Jerusalem in Israel. pause at 11:03. at the bottom right side of the frame you will see bricked in gate. this is the beautiful gate (eastern gate) spoken of in the Bible. it will be used by Christ at the time of his return. now, draw a straight line crossing through this gate - then you'll come across a small dome - named dome of the tablets. this is the holy of holies, the very center of God's temple.

It certainly shows some engineering skill -- but then we'd had the chance to practice on those pyramids, hadn't we? There's a theory that the cedars of Lebanon were wiped out by the demand for rollers to move these stones. The goats only came along later to eat the shoots trying to recover...

@@alancrabb No. Accurate archeology is an abstract concept. There are rules and principles agreed upon by archeologists. When those are followed related to biblical areas, the findings have always shown the Bible to be true and accurate.

The 'rules and principles agreed upon by archaeologists' are dynamic; a technique that appears valid one year may be challenged the next as fresh data and new technologies emerge - this is the nature of any science, which does not deal with 'proof' but with probabilities. 3. Your love of your faith and enthusiasm to share it is very admirable. I'm a Christian myself and you stated that that the Quran verifies the Bible, respectfully it doesn't. Please let me explain, the crux of the fundamental difference is that we believe Jesus is the Son of God, you believe that He is just a prophet. He is our Lord, God and Saviour. Jesus endured unimaginable pain throughout His prolonged torture leading to His agonising death, please ponder this for a little while. He did this willingly to save all of us, He paid the price for my sins, for your sins, for everyone's sins, yet so many people are indifferent and many resort to using His most Holy Name as a curse word...it tares so much at my heart. I do like the respect ye have for Mary, Jesus's Holy Mother, to be honest alot of Christians barely give Mary a thought let alone the honour She deserves given that God Himself choose Her. Jesus believes in "You" even if you don't believe He died for you, loves you and wants you with Him. It it clearly evident that you are a person of deep faith, it leaves me thinking...if Jesus, had you with Him, a passionate spiritual warrior potentially inspiring others, especially at a time such as this, where there is such depravity and apathy in the world...what could He accomplish through you. Thank God I was blessed to have walked by these massive blocks, and had wondered then and still wondering how were they able to get those hugh blocks to be placed in that corridor! Maybe, with manpower, ropes and pulleys were used!!

Excellent information with outstanding graphics. How the muslims built up the elevations along the western wall was new information for me. And how Herod had those huge rocks moved into place is an enduring mystery.

I visited there in 2015 and touched the enormous stone. Our tour director said that the quarry the stones came from was at a higher elevation and the stones were brought downhill to their places. I can't quite wrap my brain around how that would actually work, but it's a possible explanation.

Me neither. Balbek has some stones that blow the mind. Egypt too, I just can't see them cut with the tools they had. There's tool marks , scoops, Saw marks it makes you think that's for sure.

Mark 13:2 - "And Jesus answering said unto him, Seest thou these great buildings? there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down." In 70 AD, during the war between the Romans and the Jews, the Second temple was "thrown down" and not one stone now stands upon the other

@@RunTwoWinBut there are stones on top of one another! And the Western Wall is partially intact. Maybe it’s because when Jesus made that prophecy it was conditional upon Israel accepting him as the Messiah, and the plan was that he would return in glory to rescue them from the “wrath to come”! But we have Paul’s words in Acts 28:28-31 KJV that tell us everything we need to know - that Israel lost her final chance to receive her betrothal kingdom of “many mansions” and she forfeited all of her prophecy, including that one, Matthew 16:28, Matthew 10:23 and 1 Thessalonians 4:17 KJV! The wrath did come (in 70 AD) but not the rescue, not by any fault with God or his Son, but through Israel’s rejection of their Bridegroom seeking to re-marry her!

@@dfkuz I knew that was coming! I'm sure you can take it as not one stone upon another as a structure. From my understanding, Jesus is 100% accurate with his prophesy in Mark 13. If Jesus said it and it's in the Bible, it happened, is happening or will soon happen

@@RunTwoWin I don't like it either because it can make witnessing to people more difficult if there are problem verses. What do you do with Matthew 16:28: "Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom." And, Matthew 10:23: "But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come." and then later in the Acts period, 1 Thessalonians 4:17: "Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord." You can tell from the "we which are alive and remain," that Paul was confident that he or at least some of his listeners would be among those the Lord would catch up. Most believers ignore these passages, some cringe and then quickly move on, some spiritualize them until they're ridiculous, and then there are some that lose their faith and go back to agnosticism. There was a website called "Black Unbelievers" where they explained their refusal to believe with those verses.
