‪@RealMobStories‬ James Proctor discusses the latest happenings in the world of Organized Crime and the American Mafia Cosa Nostra. Today, we discuss the SAD passing and accident of Anthony "Tony Cakes" Conigliaro by a department of transportation vehicle. The demise of Tony Cakes was disturbing but it seems to be nothing but a sad accident. The driver of the F550 was upset at what happened. Apparently, Tony Cakes was in the cross walk but was not looking at traffic. He lived in Bay Ridge and was 86 years old. He is friends with Mob Lawyer Mathew Mari who is a friend of this show. Mr Mari gives his thoughts on Tony Cakes. IN addition, we find out about his nickname and is Mob Past as an acting capo in the Genovese Family. He goes back to the days of Matty the Horse Illiano who famously owned the Umberto's Clam House where Joe Gallo met his final fate that early morning after a night of partying. We also discuss John Pennisi, the former Lucchese member who became an informant. John Pennisi did a show recently about Federico "Fritzy" Giovanelli and according to a "friend", the information given was wrong. In particular, Fritzy was never involved in dope and was a guy involved mostly in bookmaking and loan sharking. Fritzy infamously had a court stenographer on payroll with the federal courts and he was able to get indictment information before it happen. In one case, he let Gambino Angelo Ruggiero also known as Quack Quack know about an upcoming indictment. as we know his brother Salvatore Ruggiero was a big deal in the H trade and he ended up dying in a plane crash. Sal's business was taken over by Angelo Ruggiero. However, this went against the mandate of Gambino Boss Paul Castellano who did not approve of dealing dope because of the problems with law enforcement and federal indictments. Fritzy actually gave the indictment draft to Angelo Ruggiero. There was a bug on the property and this was bad news for Ruggiero as he liked to talk on his daughter's Princess Phone. In addition to himself, he got John Gotti's brother Gene Gotti jammed up in this. They went to 3 different trials over 5 years before getting convicted. Gene Gotti and John Carneglia go to prison on a 50 year sentence while Angelo Ruggiero passes away from cancer. John Gotti was so upset that he wouldn't have anything to do with Angelo Ruggiero and it was reported that Sammy the Bull Gravano told John Gotti he should go to the funeral. Even John Gotti Junior was friendly still with RUggiero who had been a long time friend of the Gotti's. There are reports as well that Ruggiero was the nephew of former Gambino Underboss for Carlo Gambino and Paul Castellano, Neil Dellacroce. WE discuss the case including the accusations that Fritzy was responsible for the attempted rubout of police detective Kathleen Burke and the actual demise of Anthony Venditti who was a NYPD Detective in the Task Force looking at organized crime. This happened in January of 1986, when John Gotti had just become the boss of the family. However, Fritzy was a member of the Genovese family and was close to people like Vincent "Chin" Gigante and "Fat" Tony Salerno. Stay tuned to Real Mob Stories with James Proctor for the latest updates and stories.

I never thought Lee was a bad guy but that his channel was more the “TMZ” of the genre. Now I think you’ve transformed this channel into well researched and thorough dive on quality material. You and Nadu do similar type videos but your quality has far surpassed him, IMO. His research is surface level and yours is indepth (paperwork) etc. keep up the good work!

I've listened to hours of Fritzy's phone taps. He never mentions anything incriminating. Very shrewd. Hell his mole that provided FBI info and indictments is still unknown to this day. Very cautious individual.

Hey James, do u make episodes about the Canadian mob? Seems like they're the ones that are way more active, as in violence. Compared to the mob in the States. Would be cool to get more news on em from another source other then the OG pod. Plus it would keep u a lil more busier since the US mob has strayed away from the violent side of the 'life'.... keep it up tho sir!
@RealMobStories
@RealMobStories 2 ай бұрын
You are correct it is much more involved than in the states now. I have followed some of the dealings in Montreal but I am not an expert in the mob up there. However I find it fascinating and have been getting up to speed on the history etc

I do watch Pennisi’s channel he does a pretty good job. I kind of doubt that Fritzy dealt drugs. The Chin was very serious gangster. He took no drug rule seriously.Would have been a death sentence for Fritzy if he got caught.

As for the live,if you get a good topic or a good guest, lives can be very good, the draw back is the sickos that come into the live,it obviously comes with the territory, you just need someone good with you,who can remove them quickly,so that they don't gather a Sick momentum
