man i had this game on the tg16. me and my friends played the hell out of it. loved it so much. it does become addicting as you play.

The TG16 was my first game system and this was one of the games I liked playing. Even if I never beat it, the music was enjoyable enough that I remember it years later. And now I generally don't like a game that doesn't have a good soundtrack because of it. :)

i love this game. it's fun, addictive, challenging, and the music is good, especially the main theme. its so catchy, i cant get it out of my head.

It does have interesting gameplay. My favorite part is the fact that it switches between a couple of different genres. You know? But, honestly..........that's one of the only things I liked about it. Ha! The Turbo is known as the "shooter king" for a reason......guess that's why I loved it so much. Thanks for watching!!!!

I want to like it, but it appears that the second game was released in America (which was stupid), but I must say, the game play looks interesting. Do most of the Turbo Grafx games have the same side scrolling shooters (which are fun and addicting am I right), and infinite continues? Keep 'em coming! I'm glad to be subscribing to a reviewer who doesn't over exaggerate about games like the Irate Gamer.

See....I totally agree with you. I know there are a lot of people who love it (and that's great, really). But, I just always had an "empty" feeling inside when I played this one. I had most of these when they were new & I didn't end up liking this game much. It looks a lot more fun than it really is. There was something really cheap feeling about it but I don't remember exactly what. I wish I would have kept it so I could be selling it now though!

Definitely! I mean, I'm sure if the game came out originally and told the "original" story, the second one would be more meaningful (I hear that the second in the series IS better than the original, at least that's what I'm told). But, from a USA perspective, it was silly and......I don't know......the game just left me feelin' empty. :(

You can tell that this game is really trying to take the SNES spec's, but the Hue card can only do so much storage... So this was the reason why of no special intro. There was sooooo much installment in the game play and not enough to install for a story. If I remembered right, a hue card can go 1mb, an NES is 256K - 512KB maxed out cartridge, and genesis can go high as 3mb, NES had went 4MB with Killer instinct and Doney Kong Country.Look at the characters in this Shiyubibi Man. Only 2 sprites

Adding a couple of flashbacks would have helped but even that won't have saved it from the boring overall game play. Sadly I heard the third one kills both of the prequels...... of course that one is only in Japan so I never played it.

I watched your review to try to get a feel for whether I'd be interested in picking up this game on the VC or not. Maybe it's because I'm unfamiliar with the game, but it seemed like you spoiled a lot (if not everything) about the game in your review. Was it really necessary to do that? You've got a solid review system set up, and it's a shame that it's crippled by telling me more about the game than I want to hear in a review.

Shockman isn't to bad though it is out done by the 3rd game in the serise.Since it go's back to how the original plays,useing the sword as a weapon instead.Though i like shockman to a degree.I guess becuase it's gameplay reminds me of megaman for the most part.

I hate it when we get sequels that don't tell the story of the first game..... especially when we DON'T GET THE ORIGINAL! Heh heh, anyways cool review here. The game was fairly disappointing and could have used a lot more depth.

I own this on Wii and it is thee most atrocious game I've ever played, which really sucks because it looked like something I'd enjoy being a fan of the mega man series. Practically everything mentioned in the review for this version doesn't even function properly in the Wii version. In two player mode EACH CHARECTER HAS A LIFE BAR, but only ONE BAR is used for BOTH players during game play? WTF? Making two player not only pointless, but HARDER. And just when your fed up and want to cheat.......guess what............that's right the life refill cheat doesn't work. My advice: DONT BUY THIS ON WII! Unless you enjoy suffering.

mquirk00 I know this comment is only 3 years old, but Left + Select + Y&B works on the classic controller for Wii. Just gotta mash the shit out of those four buttons at the same time a couple times.
