Pass through socket is alright for this, but I had zilch for luck gripping that flat of rear shock shaft through the fat set I had. I guess they have counterhold sockets for it, but could not find. I ended up sliding sock and bump stop down and gripping that shaft hard with protected vise grips.

Would love to hear a follow up review of these Bilsteins once you have more miles on them.. Had them in 2 older audis. One was perfection. The other was horrible. My stock c7.5 is comfy but definitely not on rails!

Another fantastic video. I have the standard suspension right now and am going to be installing the Eibach 1 inch and .8 inch lowering springs. Do I also absolutely need to change my struts to shorter sport struts or can I stay with oem standard suspension struts? I have no idea what it might do to the ride. Trying to save a few bills at the moment. My driverside coil broke three days ago, so I am hoping to only change the coils throughout the car.

I have a 2010 s4 with the sport diff. I haven’t taken the struts out/apart yet and I’m wondering if there will be any difference connectors or sensors I should shave to worry about

Hi, I have an a6 c7.5 2015 in south america, brazil! I have a suspension noise that I cant get rid of! With your experience can you guide me on this journey. I already replaced, the pivot, shock absorber, the cushion too, the bottom struts, the upper and some bushings and im still getting a metal to metal noise!

Did you torque down the shocks while on the stands, with the tire on the ground, or did you just use the impact? I just had to buy OEM shocks because everything has been on backorder for 2 months. Got sick of waiting.

Off topic a tiny bit as I have a 2014 RS5 Cabrio. Not the mechanic that you are rather just trying to get the parts together to take to my mechanic. Front Struts are lightly leaking, and rears are pretty bad. I've been doing a lot research trying to find a Bilstein replacement for the factory shocks that don't require lowering springs. The entry curb into my driveway is already millimeters away from scraping the front end. Unfortunately, most of the euro car sites that sell RS5 suspension push the B8 or B16 kits that require coil overs and drop the car. Are you aware of anything for the B8 RS5 that utilize Billsteins B6 dampers that swap in using factory springs front and rear and don't change ride height? I drive this car 1,000 miles a year for date nights and top-down cruises when the weather is good.

@@nitrofitfitness6262 I'm fairly positive you can buy just replacement shocks from bilstein. Check their website.

Hey Cam, do you think you would be able to swap the rear bump stops without removing the shocks entirely to avoid any issues with taking that lower bolt out? Or there isn't going to be enough room?
@AudiC7OwnersАй бұрын
It's possible depending on how strong your shocks are. Basically think of it this way; you're shock is constantly under compression between the weight of the body of the vehicle and the subframe. If you unbolt the top of it and try and move it it might have enough tension where it's just constantly trying to push upwards and you might not be able to get it back down to get into place.

My rear shocks have a wire going into the top of the shock (C7.5 competition). What the hell is that for and how do I get it off??

Sorry for the noob question but do struts from a B7 A4 fit the C7s? Looking to do lowering springs as well if I buy these available B7 struts.

Are the s6/s7 oem brembo calipers direct bolt on for the a6/a7? Did you need a different bracket?
@AudiC7Owners Жыл бұрын
You remove you OEM bracket and replace it with the S6/S7 Bracket. It ends up being a much easier brake job after you install the brembos.

Bro what Dewalt impact were u using? 3/8” drive or 1/2”. Was thinking about getting a 1/2” drive to take wheels off and my snap on one is getting weak now. It’s 10 years old I think.
