I’ve had the MRR for a few weeks and got to play around with the settings on a trip to pismo beach. The controls are easy to adjust and you can feel the clicks as you move them. It’s been fun matching the shocks to terrain.

I have narrowed down my shock selection for my tacoma to this two options, so I'm glad this video came out, I am leaning towards the dobinsons because they seem to offer better flex as compared to the OMEs, and I'm trying to maximize flex (without having to weld or cut anything of my truck), but boy I want the OMEs

i just put mrrs on my 2019 4runner in May and they are beyond what i was expecting. Really top notch. the BP51s are crazy cool too however.

Have bp-51 on my 2012 Defender couldn’t be happier. Made specifically for the car. The only thing I would change is the adjustability, but understand they are like that because of the internal bypass.

I went with the BP51'S because in the MMR's were more expensive and setting up the spring rates on the site was confusing. I knew pretty much all the cons of the BP51'S but so far they're running pretty good. I personally work on my own vehicles and enjoy doing so I'll deal with cons later and hopefully I get some good mileage out of them. Great vid as usual from shock surplus

I went with the BP-51 and now I wish I went with the Dobbinsons. less issues and easer to repair and maintain

@@ShockSurplus trying to "adjust" the BP-51 is such a pain especially in the struts. But the issue of the reservoir connection leaking is real as it has happened twice and they haven't been on for a year. I looked in to how to get my 6 month old 10k/miles shocks fix but your right as in no one wants to work on them and huge lead times of the truck being in the shop. While Dobinsons have more customization with setup and more options with setup. I feel the bp-51 are just way over marketed while the Dobinsons are more of the real deal setup.

Dobinsons is made in Australia and much higher quality build and performance engineering and durability. The internals in their struts are all high end materials..

I have purchased the AG Shocks and have not installed them yet. But it looks like they are better than these and on par with Reiger or Ohlins. Having electronic adjustments is the future

AG? What brand and since there is electronic are they much more expensive?

I'm looking at the Dobinson MRR for my Tacoma. I want a 3" lift. But also have plans to get a super pacific camper and armor. Unfortuately I can't get everything at one time. What do you recommend? If I get the spring rate for the camper how would it effect ride quality as suppose to get the spring rate for stock w/ 3" lift then upgrade springs later? Trying to avoid spending extra money.

Im trying to decide between these two shocks for my daily driver on gravel roads with lots of potholes and washboard sections. Assuming a 2" lift would you recommend the MRR or BP51 for a smoother and more comfortable ride?

I’ve had MRR for second gen Tacoma. The adjustability have been amazing and can make it really comfortable while maintaining good drivability.
