Ironhide was supposed to be in Prime, but because of his death of Dark of the moon, he was scrapped to avoid confusion. They made him red just like his movie counterpart
@seant13269 ай бұрын
Ironhide was black in the movies? Did you mean G1?
Not only did Corey Burton get to play Megatron, but he even got to reprise his role as the cruel but loyal decepticon scientists, Shockwave. I love this show!

That Shockwave reveal at the end was INSANE when I first saw it since I never expected Shockwave to show up and I like how hes voiced by original Shockwave voice actor Corey Burton. I really like how this show reimagined characters like Wasp who was a character I believe was character from Beast Wars. I also liked how this series showed Bumblebee's flaws as a character since he is so eager to be an Elite guard member and receive glory and fame but that got to his head sometimes and he tends to forget the support and friendship he has always had with Bulkhead who may not be the most ambitious guy but still a humble and down to Earth guy who just wants to live his life the way he wants to and Bee really sees his mistake both neglecting Bulkhead as a friend and accusing Wasp of being a double agent when he truly was innocent.

4:49 Longarm was first used as the American name for Red Alert's Mini-Con in Transformers Armada in 2002. 5:31 Well, maybe. This was before both D-16 and B-127 were made the "official" original names for Megatron and Bumblebee, as far as I'm aware. And I think they were calling Bulkhead a "mudflap" as an insult.
@ReactZones9 ай бұрын
They were insulting him but I was wondering what his name was before Sentinel gave him one. I was also contemplating if I heard the name Mudflap before. I'm pretty sure there's a character with that name already.
@IIGummies9 ай бұрын
@@ReactZones The most notable Mudflap incarnation is probably the red hatchback in ROTF, whose twin was Skids, a green hatchback with the same model. The obnoxious duo is present through basically the entire film

Fun fact: the AllSpark Almanac reveals that the animated version of Kup gave Optimus, Sentinel, and Elita-1 their names. The reasons why is because Optimus was an optimist, Sentinel was vigilant, and Elita had a snobbish attitude.
@IronDino9 ай бұрын
5:35 So in the Animated series, Transformers (or at least Autobots) are given serial designations from their protoform (for example; B-Protoform-287), their names are either granted to them (Wasp) or nicknames that stick (Bulk briefly being Mudflap) and/or promoted roles (Minor, Prime, Magnus).
@Stargazer22449 ай бұрын
The fact that Wasp has come out of prison with his mind shattered and a completely different form of speech should be pretty telling of Autobot prison conditions This show puts a lot of doubt on the usual heroic nature of the Autobots while maintaining its lighter tone, which makes it super interesting
@dustbunny63818 ай бұрын
I fully truly believe ultra Magnus is a worse leader than Megatron in this continuity.

Was waiting for this one :D Fun fact, Shockwave's voice actor is Corey Burton, who voiced the character in G1 too. Iirc, he agreed to the role of Megatron with the stipulation that he would also voice Shockwave. He clearly has a lot of love for the character, and he really brings his all to this version of our beloved psychopathic scientist.

Fun Fact: Ironhide was the last new animated figure that they released in America at Toys R Us in the form of a retooled of the Cybertronian Ratchet figure.
@akihitobeigoma049 ай бұрын
The thing is, before cybertronions get the names we know em as, they were designated by names with letters and numbers, except for like Optimus and Elita who were known as Orion Pax and Ariel, idk if this continuity is the same as like that, but that’s how it is
@edward185179 ай бұрын
For criminals they sentence them to being imprisoned in cells that are so small they can't transform in them, which is part of what drove Wasp insane. Also, they did make a toy of Bumblebee for what he'd look like as part of the Elite Guard ^_^ And you know shit's getting serious when Shockwave shows up in a series XD
@medafan538 ай бұрын
Interestingly in the Jappanease version of Animated, Ironhide is called Armourhide, because _Bulkhead_ is called Ironhide, I don't know all of it but I recall reading that in that version of the show it is somehow meant to be in continuity with the 07 film.

In Animated, this incarnation of Wasp shared the same body type as Bee, and was his rival.
@Savage219 ай бұрын
I found a fan comic of why Wasp talks different and taking in the third person for being interrogated mercilessly by Sentinel called Mind: Wasp by Mina Brooks
@medafan538 ай бұрын
This episode interestingly puts a light on body types, where transformers all share the same body design, we see here Bumblebee, Wasp and Cliffjumper all sharing the same body type; 65356-9292-346 in homage, most likely, to G! Bumblebee and Cliffjumper being essentially the same vehicle with a different vehicular shell, and the long running nature that most, if not all figures of one of them will end up repainted/retooled as the other. Meanwhile Ironhide is shown to have the same body type as Ratchet; 256-OZU-004, again, in homage to their G1 versions sharing a mold. I find it particularly interesting, when just a few episodes earlier they put a completely different spin on the most common example of a shared body type; the Seekers.

Also, as you may hear in Animated and in other TF series, slag is used as an offensive term like it’s the f-word for cybertronians. Which is actually in humans, at least in England I believe. Which is why the Dinobot Slag’s name was changed to Slug

If I remember correctly, there are a lot more story planned for Waspinator in the cancelled season of Animated. So even though he does have content in the remaining episodes, it kinda got left unfinished.

Animated Shockwave has the ability of Punch, an Autobot (in the g1 continuity at least) who has the shapeshifting ability to assume the identity of his Decepticon alter-ego Counterpunch Interestingly enough, Animated Shockwave has different vehicle modes depending on which identity he’s assuming. He turns into a tank as Shockwave, while Longarms into a cybertronian tow truck. Which essentially makes Shockwave a quad-changer
@syabilaazri78349 ай бұрын
Quad-changer is really rare to see that the last time we see ones are in Rescue Bot and Rescue Bot Academy....

Meet Wasp and our undercover spy Shockwave i was suprise that they never make an evil "twin" rival for Bumblebee ever in any other Transformers series.(also, you already guess his "full name") i mean, Bee and Wasp? They look almost the same but behave differently... By the way, back when RiD2015 came out and i heard that "Strongarm" is Bumblebee cadet, i got a flashback of this episode becuase of what "Longarm" is... they both almost look similiar but at least we know that she smart and loyal cop....
@mikienowhoosebad14385 ай бұрын
You probably already know this, but Bumblebee used to be called B-1-27. Must be some kind of military license number. Like he's the 27th member of the first B-TEAM or something.

yeah this episode was great and it shows some good back story for bee and bulkhead and sentinel and it was cool seeing the elite guards training methods because we never saw them in prime but based on what smokescreen said it was probably a lot like what bee and bulkhead went through in this episode and shockwave in this series is different then his prime counterpart he is a double agent spy rather then a cold logical mad scientist also thats pretty bad for the Autobots that con spy is the head of Autobot intel Megatron could make the elite guard chase there tailpipes and be non the wiser

I didn't like this reveal. They should've kept Wasp as the red herring for much longer with only the faintest hint it wasn't him. IMO there's a much better point to have shown Shockwave's true identity later in the series.
