I am an Early Childhood education student. Children CANNOT consent. You CANNOT question this. Children are still in the early developmental stages of becoming a human, most importantly their brain has not finished developing. To be specific, a persons Prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain that deals with important decisions and comprehension, is NOT finished developing until adulthood. Any type of relationship with under aged kids or children always result in damage to the child's well being and emotional, physical, social and cognitive health. Infants's brains often cannot comprehend atrocities done to them and they basically refuse to acknowledge the memory. However it can resurface later in life causing emotional distress at best and can lead to suicide at worst. Pedophilia is vile and disgusting. Go to therapy.

Now from what I have read in the literature involving the study of paraphilias (abonormal & harmful sexual desires of acts). It is not likely that a pedophile (in state of mind) won't at any point act out there desires. It's not 100% but it's pretty close. Now someone might say that homosexuality was once defined as a paraphilia & they've become socially accepted. They'd be right, but homosexuality should be socially accepted, because there is no inherent harm in respect to homosexual sex or relationships. With pedophila there is always harm. Not just psychological but physiological a child who hasn't gone through puberty is incapable of engaging in sexual activities without at least causing themselves physiological harm & very likely psychological harm as well.
