Shogo is like Gandalf. He randomly disappears for long periods of time.. but then shows up again with the perfect message. :) Last year Shogo recommended me to solo travel, and I traveled by myself to Prague and Berlin. It was a very very enriching experience and I learned a lot about myself! Highly highly recommended. Too be honest at first I was pretty nervous to travel alone, but it ended up being a blast and tons of fun. Was a super awesome experience. Everything went very smoothly. As a solo tourist it's very easy to talk to people because A. Everyone loves talking to a tourist. "I just got to town, what do you recommend I should do?", "I'm not from here, where's a good place to go eat?", etc. Being a tourist automatically makes you interesting and people enjoy engaging with you. It's very easy to start conversations with people when traveling. Girls love the exotic traveling guy too. B. You're never going to see these people ever again. So there is no reputation you are building. You feel a lot more loose and care-free because you don't care about what people think about you because POOF you'll be gone forever in a week or two. So if you have an awkward encounter, or come off as weirdo lol.. it doesn't matter at all. And because of this it's very easy to just relax and be your true self because you really don't care what people think of you. C. Traveling is exciting. Your brain is getting all of this new stimulus. You are not in your routines, but out adventuring. So you'll find your spirit is naturally more social and adventurous and willing to do things that maybe your normal "day-to-day" self wouldn't do back home. Traveling solo is amazing for people who are depressed or have social anxiety to kind of "wake them up" a bit. Hostels are quite cheap too. I didn't know much about hostels being from America. But they were all over Europe and traveling wasn't that expensive. And the experience was DEFINITELY far beyond worth the money I spent on traveling. Solo traveling is one of the best things you can do for your personal growth. I would never have solo-traveled it if Shogo'd didn't recommend me to do it last year. I really really appreciate Shogo for him recommending me to solo travel last year. EXCELLENT video -- glad to see you back on youtube Shogo! :) This video is also a "turning into a man" experience. Getting out of your comfort zone and DOING SOMETHING BY YOURSELF. Taking full responsibility for your life during this trip. Being in a foreign environment and purely taking care of yourself and dictating your life when on that trip.

Can you please help me out with something. for some reason i cant have a conversation with anybody. i could literly be talking to my own brother and i just couldnt have a conversation with him. I just have so little to say about everything i dont get it. I think it has something to do with explanation. you could literly ask me the plot of a movie i just saw, and although i would understand the whole movie perfectly i would still just not be able to explain it. I would start going into details about parts that dont matter then i would start forgetting parts and i would start to stutter and shit. i dont get it help me

I remember the first time I watched this video. I was around 21, just starting college. I watched your other stuff first, mostly to improve my social skills and then this video hit me hard, and promised to myself that I would travel the world one day, when I get a bit more mature. I'm 27 now. Tomorrow is the first time I'll visit a completely new city by my own. I always had this crave to travel and seek an adventure on my own, I finally listened to myself. I want to stop using my brain so much and feel like I am finally in the flow of life, like you said. I want to thank you for this and your other videos, from time to time I come back and watch a few. Hope you are doing fine wherever you are, dude.

Hey brother, I've listened to all sorts of advice for many years, and I truly believe that you have something relevant to teach people. The way I see what you say is sort of deconstructing the unnecessary information instead of putting on more information trying to fix something and making it even worse and clogged. Anyway, I see that this channel has the potential of growing pretty big if you put on videos with a certain frequency and volume. Just my view on it. Hope you keep posting. All the best.

Solo traveling changed my life. I started around age 17 or so due to some life circumstances that kind of forced that lifestyle onto me. Of course, there's been plenty of heart pounding, adrenaline-filled, high-fear situations along the way but I've grown so much because of traveling by myself. I highly recommend it to anyone who is serious about accelerating their personal/spiritual growth. I've always described traveling by yourself as "taking drugs without actually taking drugs." You seriously start thinking thoughts and learning about stuff that's literally inconceivable to your "old/current self." Awesome video Shogo!

I've been to many places, and I believe that traveling or going somewhere hoping that they will be different, or better than the place you live is not the right way of doing it. Because anywhere you are you will still be you, and many places aren't entirely different.

"The current of life will take you on it" - This is true for some while others are kinda cursed or have fallen out of this grace. That's why you force yourself talking up people. It's like some people are within life and the others are in some strange exile, where they get crushed by the weight of time while waiting for their execution by it. It it were like you stated, then I should have experienced it at least once after 33 years, but there was never something like this, not one minute. Every person I touched, every interaction, ever connection, somehow everything that happend, I had to fight to make it happen. Life is a balancing act on a rope over a void and the void is always calling. There is no easy floating with life at least not with social interactions.

@GoldJacketLuke8 жыл бұрын
+Lifelessons Channel Every country is different, so I'm not sure about Mexico. What I did when I traveled to Europe was the first night in a city I spent it at a hotel. Just so I knew I'd get a good sleep and have a day to explore the city and get a bit acquainted. And then the rest of the days I spent it in hostels. Then I went to another city, first night in a hotel to relax and adjust and have some quality alone time, and then the rest of the nights in hostels, etc. But what you have is pretty good! I think most young people stay purely in hostels though because it's cheaper. Hostels are awesome and that's a great route too. Hostels are great for meeting people plus a great way to save money. I'd actually recommend for you 1 day in a hotel and then 2 days in a hostel and then 2 days in another hostel for variety, but what you have sounds fine! I have no clue how Mexican hostels are though.. you should check a site like Hostel World to read reviews. (and if there's a good one book it early) Best of luck! Be smart and stay safe (I don't know much about traveling in Mexico.. I'm sure if your smart and do your research you'll be 100% fine though)! You'll have a blast! :)

I just turned 20 in april, I kinda wanted to travel alone but I don't feel confident enough to do that, I feel like I'm too immature. I was considering doing this trip with my best friend that I know since a while, is it still worth or having him on my side won't bring anything positive to the travel experience ?
@Agraenn2 жыл бұрын
Funnily enough, approx 2 years after my initial comment, I went to Australia on my own, worked on small jobs (housekeeper in the outback, ...) for 6 months, then spent 6 months travelling in SE Asia with the money I earned. Overall, it was an amazing experience, which made me gain confidence and perspective of who I am as a human being. After this journey abroad, I decided to finish my degree, found a job abroad, and now I am in another country, where I had the chance to meet the perfect girlfriend. It's weird because everything started from this video, and I still enjoy watching it from time to time. I definitely think it was the ideal video to end your channel, as there is no greater advice than putting yourself into the world and learning who you are / who you want to become. Thank you very much Shogo, I hope you are doing well in your life.
