Fan Pops Where's The Trap Trailer 2024 Reaction At ?
@agt_bgt93627 ай бұрын
William Adams, also known as Anjin, presented Japan's first Western-style sailing ship to the Shogun, Tokugawa Ieyasu. He was Japan's first Western samurai. Even today, there is a William Adams Memorial Park in Japan, where a society is held to honor his achievements. Dutch, British, Mexican, and Japanese people participate. I enjoyed your reaction videos. Thank you.

Though it seems heartless to me it felt that Toranaga achieved his dream and helped others see to their own as well. #1 Blackthorne now has purpose and a place to belong in Japan #2 Fuji freed from Japan and her memories to be a nun under Toranaga's will #3 Mariko letting her die of her own free will and to serve the greater good of Japan and vindicate her family and no doubt make her Father proud by helping his friend become Shogun #4 Hiromatsu's sacrifice no doubt would be worthy to him to know that his leader, his King pretty much became Shogun and honored his clan and his duty It all seems cruel but in the end everyone, including Toranaga, are at peace by his victory.. and that is why Toranaga is still the protagonist in my eyes.

28:00 let put it here : 1. Mariko death cause Ochiba (and other lords who sympathize with Mariko) not to take side with Ishido which make 2. Some lords wont support ishido AT THE BATTLE OF SEKIGAHARA when they didn't see Ochiba son banner, which make 3. Some major force will betraying Ishido in THE MIDST of a battle of Sekigahara Which means Ishido got attacked from behind from his own forces. Which makes ISHIDO LOSE THE WAR.

Anna Sawai absolutely devoured this role, and for as much as I wasn't sold on Cosmo Jarvis early in the season, his performance really grew on me and I wound up enjoying him a great deal. In all honesty, every member of the cast was superb here.
@ck_idgaf16807 ай бұрын
Yes, there is no war. Crimson Sky was Mariko's death. Torananga told Mariko how important she was, even tho she didn't know or think it. She was very respected despite her father's betrayal. Ishido's failure to keep her safe, destroyed any chance he had.
@guybenson35284 ай бұрын
Actually, there was a battle of Sekigahara. Toranaga won and they took 30,000 heads. Because Mariko achieved Crimson Sky, Ishido lost the heir's army and any legitimacy, and therefore the war.

Yes Toranaga told us how it ends. The last scene of Toranaga and then fades into "Shogun" is basically another tell tale sign that hes now the Shogun.
@bengilbert76557 ай бұрын
The novel and the 1980 miniseries ended at this point. The miniseries had a short narration about the battle and on the book we got a glimpse of what Toranaga was thinking.

Toranaga DID want to become shogun from the very start. That's the twist. He tricked everyone, even the audience. Ishido's accusations were correct in episode 1. And according to the book, there will still be a battle with fighting and Ishido is captured and then buried up to his neck to leave him to die. The scheming didn't avoid a battle, it just turned the numbers in Toranaga's favour. Although Osaka was an important city, it was not the capital at that time, it was the nearby city of Kyoto. Kyoto means "capital city". When it was moved to Edo, they renamed that to Tokyo, which means "Eastern capital".

Shogun would never let the anjin go. Just so he could learn from him. Also John did not go back to England. That was John dream that he saw himself being in England.

It’s a moment right out of inception: an Old man, filled with regret, clutching on to Mariko’s crucifix; the same crucifix which he has let go of along with the ashes of Fuji-sama’s family. He “killed” that possible future version of himself when he decided to perform the ritual su!c!d3 (not seppuku, slitting his belly open; but thrusting the blade to his heart just like what he saw Mariko-sama attempt) in order to keep the peace in Ajiro; also pretty much in the same way that his gardener offered his life to keep the peace in the village.

13:23 Do you recall back in Ep6 "Ladies of the willow world" , even though the participants of that teahouse scene do not yet know it, the courtesan's words literal meaning: "Presence is most felt keenly in absence" comes into full effect right at this moment. Powerful subtle scene & call back. This episode goes full circle for multiple closures.
@momoryoma44887 ай бұрын
I guess the reason why there is no war that happened is from the fact that the series was shot during the pandemic and having close contact to that many people (even with the use of CGI), the producers and writers cannot risk it so this is kind of their workaround and it still works as the ending. Also as per WatchMojo, it should have been released last 2021 but they didn't like the end result so probably retakes or somethings needs to be added to make this a masterpiece for this decade.
@RogueCylon7 ай бұрын
Heartbreaking, that without Mariko the victory was bittersweet. John’s dream was his attachment to England, he held a belief in going home. When with a Fuji-SA a on the boat she talks about letting go of the past. That’s what John does in letting go of the cross, it was symbolic in letting go of his dream. He accepted his life in Japan.
@wichard19947 ай бұрын
The real Blackthorne stayed in Japan until his death. He married a Japanese woman and have two children. History doesn't say who she is. But in the show, she could be Fuji.

I believe Edo became Tokyo today. And in the series, Toranaga's home base was Edo. Yabushige was lord of Anjiro at which Toranaga was hiding out at.
@guybenson35284 ай бұрын
Yes, Edo, sometimes pronounced Yedo, eventually became Tokyo, the new capitol. The old capitol was Kyoto.

@jeffandjoannbauer95677 ай бұрын
As others have said: Blackthorne never leaves Japan. That “grandpa Blackthorne” sequence was a dream and nothing more. The character he’s based on never left Japan either. The show ended exactly as it should’ve and how it ended in the book: there was a reference to a battle where Ishido loses and Torananga becomes Shogun in the book’s epilogue, which is essentially covered in Torananga’s conversation with Yabushige.

Thank you for your interest in talking about Japanese culture. I am very happy. As Japanese people living in modern times, we do not wish to live in the Sengoku period, but that spirit is still alive. For example, if a traffic light is red when no one is looking, many Japanese will obey it. Also, we have a spirit of "OMOTENASHI" towards everyone, even foreigners. I hope that you will come to Japan and feel the same way in your heart as Anjin (Black Zone). Japan today is one of the safest countries in the world. I sincerely welcome you to come to Japan.

Namazu is a mythical creature in Japanese folklore. This giant catfish is believed to live deep under the earth and is responsible for causing earthquakes and tsunamis by thrashing its tail. That is what Yabushiga is referring to. The show is pretty historically accurate with how things were done. They went so far as to use the Japanese from the 1600s, not modern Japanese when speaking. Which would be like use using Shakespearian period English for a show. It would sound a lot different.

In historical fact, Toranaga became a shogun after the Battle of Sekigahara, and then he had maden peaceful era for 260 years, on the other hand, Anjin received land near Izu and lived as an advisor to Toranaga and as a samurai until his death. He is the only Samurai who is non-Japanese in history.

@@thitran1362 Thank you. First of all, what is the definition of samurai?
@Mugen37 ай бұрын
@@knovice8939 Hi! That's a good question! I think it is difficult to define "SAMURAI". I think it probably varies depending on the era. Personally, I think that during the Sengoku(Battle) era that was before 1600, "SAMURAI" were those who served nobles or high-ranking samurai, and also learn martial arts, prepared to go to the battlefield when something happened. They were entrusted with territories by their masters, or those who could not be entrusted with territories received "KOKU (salary)". After 1601, peaceful era, "SAMURAI" became bureaucrats, so bureaucrats in the shogunate and domain were called "SAMURAI". Regarding Yasuke, it has been confirmed that he was not entrusted with any territory, and there is no evidence as to whether he was given "KOKU" by Nobunaga, so it is difficult to say whether he fits the definition of a "SAMURAI". I think "Noboby knows Yasuke was SAMURAI or not" is the correct way to say it. By the way, Anjin was given a house, servants, and some "KOKU" when he became "HATAMOTO" in this show. In historical fact, Anjin was given 250 KOKU($400,000/year) and entrusted with territories near Izu.

@BenjaminElijah-yq2wxАй бұрын
In real Japanese history, the battle of Sekigahara was actually the battle that sealed Tokugawa ieyasu to be ultimately shogun. So it's a good play there of the producers and script writers to leave that hint there. If the series does well, with which it has done splendidly, they have an option for season 2.. And this time, to continue on from the novel and morph into tge real history.. Brilliant!

Ajiro was the fishing village. Edo is the one that became Tokyo. Also Muraji wasn't pretending to know how to translate. He was merely suggesting that a lowborn fisherman wouldnt know how to translate everything so that it was time to tell John who he really was. Also why did she assume that Torunaga would have had Buntaro's head chopped off? He's been loyal the entire time. There wasn't any traitors, Torunaga was just putting on a show to hide the fact that he had the ship burned. John was just dreaming about being old. That never happens in the book or real life. The real John never left Japan, the real Torunaga kept burning the ships he built
@khaii137 ай бұрын
Also, the fact that Anjin used the word 詰まらない【つまらない】 (tsumaranai) when he said “my war is small” can also be translated to “my wars are petty/trivial/silly/worthless” in reference to his ambitions and designs for England and his war against the Catholics. That was him letting go of his personal ambitions for something greater.

The one I have the question is the role of Lady Ochiba no Kata. In the episode, she sits behind Ishido. She is he mother of the heir to the former Shogun, she should not marry down to Ishido. She should summon all the other damiyos to help fight Toranaga and defend the legacy of the former Shogun. If she marries Ishido, that morale high ground is gone.

「オーガは、彼が足元に花を押しつぶした瞬間に、彼の貴重な葉のない枝を失いました。結局のところ、姉妹」 “The Ogre lost his precious Leafless Branch the moment he crushed the Flower underfoot; sisters in the end, after all” For the first time in the entire series, Ochiba sama looks directly to Ishido while talking to him; in all other episodes, she glances at him but looks away. That was the most subtle, passive-aggressive death stare I have seen on screen to date.💀🫣🪦 Yabushige and Toranaga smirking at each other in the end was awesome, too. Yabushige got the best end he could have gotten, considering all he has done: realizing that whether he knew it or not, he has served his Lord Toranaga excellently. And maybe, just maybe, lightening the burden in his conscience a bit. Goodbye to our favourite sociopath. 🙇🙇♀️🙇♂️ Blackthorne kills a possible future version of himself-an old man, filled with regret, clutching on to Mariko’s crucifix-by mirroring Mariko (literally doing a ritual su!c!d3 like a woman [a blade through the heart] instead of seppuku [slicing his belly open] like a samurai would) in order to protect Ajiro: the first completely selfless thing he has done in the show; and also by letting that exact same crucifix go into the water along with the ashes of Fuji-sama’s family. And to think he did all those things mostly as an act of kindness to Fuji-sama… she deserves the best. 🥹🥹🍑 The setup to be in a position to win the final battle is mostly complete, and the broad strokes were revealed, but the details of the plan and how the battle ensued are still hidden. So who is ready for a “new/separate” mini-series, titled “Sekigahara”? Ohhh, and what was Toranaga holding in his left hand just before it cut to the title card? 🪶✝️🎌
