I have to agree with Ben regarding the Dodgers questionable pitching rotation and bullpen, even with the pitchers due to come back from injuries. Anything can happen. This is baseball. But most likely the predictor of future performance is past performance, so I see the skepticism for the Dodgers going to, let alone winning the World Series.

How much is that home run ball worth? Also, how do they authenticate the ball? How do they know which ball Shohei would hit for a home run and mark it for authentification?
@fastforward1680
@fastforward1680 Ай бұрын
I know it is still very early, but I am very curious IF Shohei is able to hold on to his average and actually challenge or possibly end the season with .400 BA being the first person since Ted Wililams to do so in 1941 and potentially breaks the 2Bs record, will he be able to get a MVP this year over Mookie Betts? Let's also say his HRs are modest...say 30 and SBs are say 30 as well...and finally he collects close to 220 hits. The only thing he has against him as usual are he is a DH AND he is doing really poorly in RISP (evidenced again by his K with bases loaded 2 nights ago).
@RunForPeace-hk1cu
@RunForPeace-hk1cu Ай бұрын
It’s 22 games into the season … too early to talk about .400 As for RISP, it evens out over 162games. The key is he’s barreling… making contact over 105mph

The main difference between the Yankees this year and last year is the ability to manufacture runs and work pitch counts up. The Yankees this year average 4.5 rpg and that is without Aaron Judge being Aaron Judge. Also not to mention the Yankees have the 3rd best ERA in baseball without the best pitcher in baseball even playing. This team is going to be so dangerous and scary when Judge gets rolling because if Volpe gets on, Soto walks your left with do you pitch to Judge or pitch to Stanton with the bases loaded

Why are we celebrating most HRs by a specific ethnicity of person? Is one ethnicity more or less capable of hitting HRs? Which Cuban has the most HRs? Dominican? Colombian? Is 176 great for Japanese but you have to get 300 before you’re recognized for being Dominican? Do you see how this might be construed as a bit racist? C’mon Ben and Alex…do better. The best way to combat racism is to not talk about it. Wouldn’t it sound ridiculous if we were talking about how many HRs were hit by a red head?

I agree with Ben the Dodgers are cooked they just dont have the depth that you need in a long season. Yamamoto may not figure it out it wouldn't be the first time a big-time Japanese pitcher came in and didn't do well, I mean Fuji was very good in Japan and yet he is a reliever now. No doubt it's a good league but it isn't on the same level as the MLB considering that the MLB gets the best of the best from around the world. I think he has a better chance than most to figure it out but this is his rookie season for all intents and purposes and expecting him to be a cy young his first year is a bit foolish if you ask me. Then look at teams that are better take the O's their whole lineup and bench hits, they have Burns and Grayson, and they will have Bradish soon which is a better one two three than the Dodgers. They have so much money on the books i dont even think they can grab up anyone of real significance at the trade deadline.

Don't sleep on the Detroit Tigers. Teams hitting .208 vs Detroit pitching staff best in baseball. They got a ton of power arms up and down their rotation. Skubal may win cy and bullpen is best in baseball. Detroit notoriously starts hitting as it heats up, Tork, Greene, Carpenter all excellent bats. Major question will be defense....unearned runs has cost them 4 or 5 games this year, already. Get that fixed they'll be there in Oct. Division is much better, too.
@Isaac-qe2in

Tigers opening day starters up the middle: Jake Rogers, Javier Báez, Colt Keith, Parker Meadows- Their combined avg OPS thru 22 games: 0.419 > OPS Jake Rogers: 0.329 Javier Báez: 0.471 Colt Keith: 0.444 P. Meadows: 0.432 The strength of a team should be up the middle, so they need a whole lotta heating up, cuz this is not gonna get it done!
