There were 14 teams in the 1920's. There were less than 400 players. The NBA and NFL did not attract the best players back then resulting in more players going out for teams. And? The player pool was almost entirely drawn from people who happened to live near baseball cities and from only white players. Read about how players back then got signed. A scout would happen to see them in some farm league in the cities near where their mlb team played. They weren't scouting or developing the best of the best from all over. 100 years ago most players were white farmers who didn't train year round for baseball. Today we draw from all over the world. It's hilarious to think players back then are better than today's players. In any sport measures in time distance or speed people who won gold metals in 1920 couldn't win a high school competition today. But magically that doesn't apply to baseball?

That was already p wild to say but its even crazier when yall tried to say Mookie is better than Ohtani. Ohtani is already easily in GOAT conversations, and 100% the most talented player the game has ever seen. Whereas Mook is just a hall of famer which is still great, but hes not a goat level player. This is just empty chatter that keeps going off the rails. Ohtani is a special athlete as well as the most spectacular two-way player MLB has ever seen. He's already earned his own room at the Hall of Fame. Mookie Betts is a great player but was asked recently who he would put on his Mt Rushmore of baseball players of all time. He named Ohtani as the only current player to be there. And let David Justice know, Ohtani can play the field as well. He's done it in the past. But he would only go there if he's unable to pitch again.

Ruth was definitely the best of his era, followed closely by his teammate Lou Gehrig and Ty Cobb. Shohei is the best player of this generation. His on point pitching and clutch power hitting with speed on the base paths is pretty amazing. Each generation will have their own best players that could thrive or fail in other eras. ⚾🇺🇲

Another brother who chose to “pass” was J. Edgar Hoover. That’s to name a few. I can give you much more than that but you are not ready for it

Ty Cobb and Ted Williams were the two greatest players of all time. Ruth only hit home runs to make him as famous as he was. I know he was supposedly a good picture, but this will never be a fact given His playing career.

You don't end up with a career .342 average by just hitting home runs. Ruth deserves all the accolades he has received over the past 100 years.

Supposedly a good pitcher he set the record for most scoreless innings in the world series he may have been the greatest left-handed pitcher of all time. His record against Walter Johnson was 4-1. He occasionally pitched for the Yankess on a whim and went 5-0. Do some research

@@bradlaidmanpoplearningserv3347 Yeah well why didn't he keep pitching then? I am not a Ruth hater but to say he is the best of all time is disputable.

Ohtani is good for never playing a entire season while younger. Dodgers enjoy while older. Great player but because of his wants and ego injuries nonstop
