Truly nice as it could have been, Aldini and Tadokoro are like absolutely different galaxies: Megumi would be just "one of the girls" for Takumi, and she only has eyes for Souma. Besides, there's nothing like a sort of favour, debt or particular/unique link between them, not even a shared interest.

Garam The problem I see is that the author wanted the manga to have romance but ended turning Souma into a romance-dense protagonist instead. If Souma had from the beginning shown actual romantic interest in Erina, then the author could have use that to develop him. Seems to be a result of not thinking ahead.
