Hate isn’t the opposite of love, indifference is. If you can still hate things about the person you love, the passion is still there. He’s calling out her indifference.

Exactly, it’s a song about unrequited love after a relationship has dissolved.

I’ve been trying to understand the meaning of that line since the first time I heard the song. Your explanation is perfect. Thanks for sharing 😊

It's subjective. Most people claim fear is the opposite of love.

Love and hate are not opposites, love and hate are on the same spectrum. Indifference is the opposite of love.

Corey is a generational talent. His voice is great, his presence is addictive, his writing is astonishing, but all together it is unmatched. Snuff is one of those songs that if you can relate to it, it hits deeper and deeper every time. Great reaction video. My interpretation of, "you couldn't hate enough to love", is simply saying that you have to care enough to hate someone, otherwise you just simply don't care at all. Without having enough of a care to hate him, there is no chance to ever have love again.

"You couldn't hate enough to love" We learned lessons of life and love their despair and pain... In order to know how to love someone you must first hate someone this allows the define difference or a noticeable difference between the two

He sang this originally about a girl, but after his boy Paul gray died it took on a new meaning. I might be wrong but i think the "can't hate enough to love" hits different when Paul died from heroin after years of addiction.

Paul helped him write this song, so thats the big sentimental reason behind it.

They wrote it together and I believe he died before it was released

This song is actually a Slipknot song, there's a Slipknot video but was the last song Corey Taylor and original Slipknot bassist Paul Gray worked on before he passed away from drugs in 2010. The meaning of the song changed from girl too losing Paul Gray from Slipknot. They stopped playing this song live after Paul Gray passed away until a couple years ago.

I thought I'd drop off another suggestion, in case you're interested " Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show - Sylvia's Mother (Live)" this rock band had a country flair and a humorous style that was a bit brazen and audacious at times, they crossed many genres country rock, root rock, boogie rock, pop rock. Shon get your dancing shoes 👞👠on and be ready to boogie down🕺💃

@comradeautismo Жыл бұрын
Considering that this is actually more of Corey's song rather than the band's, most people prefer this version because there is a bit more power behind it and especially now that it has two meanings one of them being Paul.
@coreywickramasekera9968 Жыл бұрын
@@comradeautismo I read it was originally inspired by a female friend that he misinterpreted their friendship/ relationship. But I still prefer the studio "SLIPKNOT" version
