In today’s digital world, the camera manufacturers are chasing and selling more and more pixels, just to get back to the quality of film. Thank you Marcus.

I really enjoyed the video as usual everyone. The image's of the rainbow's were absolutely stunning. It was nice to see Chris on the show with Ruth. It would be nice to see him again at some time. Ruth you captured really nice image's with your time with Chris. I take my hat off to Marcus for the time it takes to get the image of the oven, which turned out superb. Catch you on the next show everyone.

Good to see Chris Sale pop up here. I've been missing his authoritative style on KZbin. An article I'd like to see is how you approach taking shots at one of those "enchanted forest" events, where they put on light displays in among the trees. I visited the one at Pitlochry last week with my camera, and shot in manual mode, f6.3, 1/100", Auto ISO. The shots are okay, but I might use a prime next time and open it right up (I'm planning on going to the Beecraigs one at Christmas). I'd be interested to see how you guys approach it (including choosing compositions in the dark).

I loved the show very much as always. I have one question: what is the name of the app that Marcus is using with the oven?
@davidharris4062
@davidharris4062 Жыл бұрын
Be aware, when entering old buildings, unstable structure, floors especially, asbestos can be a hazard, AGA Stoves had asbestos seals around the doors and asbestos insulation internally to the range, paint in old buildings such as you visited may contain lead, green paint and green wallpapers may contain arsenic

Would like for Marcus to talk about where he focused and how he determined F45 aperture on the stove image. Did he use an app?
@PhotographyOnline
@PhotographyOnline Жыл бұрын
Hi Steve. I focused on the oven, as that’s the only part I wanted to be pin sharp. I then just chose f/45 from experience. As the print was only ever going to be 8x10, I knew dof wasn’t going to be a major issue. I wouldn’t use an app for dof as the app doesn’t know your reproduction ratio, which is the most important aspect when it comes to dof. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Hi Mate Marcus, where do you buy this tripod king joy A86, also I like the pistol grip head, or if you can recommend other ones. Can you recommend a website? I live in CA, Best Regards Daniel
@PhotographyOnline

Hi Daniel. The only place we know of where you can get the A86 is from our shop. There will be other places but none that I know of. We send quite a few tripods to the USA because people struggle to find them there. We also have a few used Manfrotto 322RC2 heads for £100 but these are not advertised on the shop. If you would like to order, please enquire through Mc2Photography.com. Many thanks.

Good show as usual, although I have to say that Chris drove me a little mad. I have no doubt that he is a great photographer, but I see photography as a creative pursuit, and that means that it should be different for every photographer. He had lots of good information to share, but I wish he'd been just a little less prescriptive, a little less like, "this is the way to take this photo." Otherwise, a beautiful location, and lots of possibilities for a variety of views, and viewpoints.
@PhotographyOnline
@PhotographyOnline Жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher. We asked Chris to take us to some of his favourite locations and show us how he shoots them. That’s exactly what he did. Obviously if you went to the same locations you would put your own spin on them, as would others. It was really just meant as providing info about some locations to explore in the Lakes but we included a bit of photo advice in for good measure. Hope it was helpful and thanks for watching.
@yukonchris
@yukonchris Жыл бұрын
@@PhotographyOnline Oh, I enjoyed it, and I hope my comment didn't come across as unduly critical. Chris obviously knows his stuff, and the resultant images were gorgeous! My comment was meant more as a constructive critique on approach. There is just so much beauty in the world, and definitely no "right way" of interpreting nature. I will check out the Chris Sale You Tube channel as well. All that said, I thoroughly enjoyed the "Old Oven" feature lead by Marcus. His attention to detail, and his suggestions on dealing with the technicalities of the hobby are always appreciated. Yes, all in all, a good show!
