I hope to learn exactly what I want on a custom match rifle by starting with the Ruger precision rimfire...like you say, the RPR will not be the limiting factor on my groups for years....I look forward to reaching that point.

Thanks for the comment man. Any progress on the precision rifle?

Shooter Opinions Yes.... I mounted peep sights on it...at the end of the m-lok guard, but couldn’t out-shoot my Savage 2 target. I decided I needed a longer sight radius....I assembled a 5.5 inch “bloop tube” on which to mount my front aperture. I put a thin pad on the comb....marked my length of pull with nail polish...Like you say, the limitation now is the shooter. It is now, more os less, an Olympic style rifle for under $500. It is disclosing all of my faults...cheek weld, cant, trigger pull and follow through. I shot a perfect vertical string, as the butt pad slipped down my nylon, down jacket. Trying to put 5 in one hole.

Howa 1500 SUPER underrated. Accurate, 2 stage trigger, super smooth action. Jst buy a barreled action and add your stock or chassis of choice.

It seems no one talks about the Remington 700 anymore why ?
@Two2onefive3 жыл бұрын
Sadly, they arent the Rem700 of old. They have gone down quite a bit since the Freedom Group took over. I know, because I have rifles before and after the takeover.

Would you recommend getting the Tikka Tac A1, or a standard Tikka and drop it into an aftermarket stock or chassis?
@ShooterOpinions5 жыл бұрын
I have a Tika T3 with a target barrel in a Grayboe stock and it shoots great.

Tikkas are pretty consistantly accurate rifles but pretty consistantly show slower muzzle velocities thru the stock barrels

I had an AR-15 chambered in 6.5 grendel from alexander arms that out shot me and all my friends. I could do 1/2 in-groups at 320m. A buddy of mine had it for a while and was shooting golf balls at 650m we never actually got to shoot it any further so we have no idea what it was actually capable of.

Lol, good luck being competitive in prs with a 338 Lapua. Unless your match is 1500+ yards, you're going to get stomped hard.

What do you think about howa and sabatti ? In europe it cost the same like bergara.
@ShooterOpinions5 жыл бұрын
Personally done have any experience with either. If I was to choose I would go Howa because I hear there is getting to be a lot of aftermarket support for it.

How much mileage would a Marine trained grunt and competitive pistol shooter get out of the Bergara HMR? Is the HMR Pro more in line?
@ShooterOpinions5 жыл бұрын
They are a great rifle. I don't think that rifle will hold you back on a competitive circuit.

BRENT WESTBROOKS new Remingtons are JUNK! If you want a Remington 700 you need to look for a older one before they were owned by the freedom group.

I bought a Remington 700 5R Gen 1 with a 24" barrel non threaded. Outnif the box I'm shooting 5 shot groups the size of a dime with Federal GMM SMK. Dont know if I hot lucky or Remington is severely over looked.
