This brings tears to my eyes because I wish I could go back to my childhood in the 80s so much. I took so much for granted...I had such a great childhood.
@taracollins55974 жыл бұрын
I feel the exact same way. While I realized that I DID have a sense that something 'magical' was happening back in the '80s, I still didn't give it nearly enough 'attention'...if that makes sense. I think most of us who grew up in the '80s didn't......because we we ALL believed the hype that was fed to us at every moment: That life would only get better. While in some ways, of course, life does.....in NO WAY AT ALL did it compare to the '80s. I wish I hadn't believed that, but that was what we all did back then. God please rewind the world to the '80s!!

@BEN'S REACTION TIME You're wrong. Pam might be hot looking but in the end looks will fade, and that skank mentality will eventually turn people against her, like Scott. Boof on the other hand is the "average" looking girl (as average as Hollywood can be) but is a far more compelling person to be around. That makes her a more beautiful person.

It's sad how we will never get those days back ever again. The 80s for me at least is something you never can explain, the films, the music, the toys, the whole nostalgia. It's music like this that can trigger sadness or a memory or longing for the past which can never be repeated. I'm so thankful I lived in the 80s where I can remember and relate to alot of things.

This song makes me cry every time I hear it. It transports me right back to the 1980s, a decade I wish we all could have lived in forever. Was it perfect? No, no decade is. But its damn near. This song is also! Michael J. Fox was at the top of his game here, and I give him a lot of credit for staying faithful to "Family Ties", despite his big film success. Unlike many celebrities, he had loyalty....and class.

I agree. They should have played this either when when Boof & Scott were in the closet at the party or when they did a slow dance at the prom. Then also play it at the end too as was done. The song slayed it during the credits as it played out until the very last note. For years I assumed it was Amy Grant singing this song under another last name as she was known mainly as a "Christian" music artist. Amy Holland , has a great voice.

There’s something about a song like this that is so quintessentially 1980’s that it really touches something deep inside you if you lived through those times. It reminds you of how they made things back then. They weren’t burdened with the need to be continually cynical, so we got songs and films that were actually hopeful and made you feel optimistic about life and where everything was going. How did we let that all go?
@BigRay4325 жыл бұрын

I had a difficult childhood but the music in the 80’s was the hope that one day things would get better. People in the 80s did so much more with so much less. They made music from the heart to last forever. If only this generation would have the desire to leave music you can throw on in 40 years and it still moves you. Thank you to all those who made music to inspire people. 🙏
