Got myself a Marlin 39A Golden 20 years ago, picked it up for 299 euro , appox $310 . It is a 1967 model bought in 1970, and it had been in a gun safe since 1972. I have won quite a few competitions with her.

I have a Marlin Model 39, one of the last ones made in the Marlin Plant in North Haven, Ct. I wouldn't expect Ruger to start manufacturing these, as their trend is to make less expensive and more affordable .22s.

I would love to see these in production again. I'm not for sure if the quality and reliability would be equal to these older ones. It seem back in the day your rifles came with nice walnut stocks without having to special order or up charge the customer.

Bought a 1957 model back in NC in the early 1970’s. When my eyes were younger I used to hunt squirrels with it using the original open sights. Wonderfully accurate and precise gun. Got laid off in the mid-1980’s and stupidly sold it. Bought a new one in the 1990’s and it wasn’t nearly as accurate as my first one and that’s why I sold it. Somewhere in the last 10 years I got a chance to buy a 1949 model and it shoots as nicely as my first one, so it’s found a permanent home! A pleasure to shoot every time I take it out!

I love shooting this rifle. Not only does it shoot accurately, I have very fond memories with it and my dad. My dad has since passed on but I always tell my kids stories about me and my dad shooting. I'll pass this one on to my son eventually and let him enjoy it for years to come. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed!

It's just the way it was when my dad bought it in 1951. So I could not answer your question to be honest.
