I've been carrying a Beretta 92 FS for 15 years as a Police Officer. I have no complaints with the fit and finish of Beretta firearms.

I wonder why most agencies don't use them anymore. such a nice gun.... glocks are nice too but there's just something about the beretta that appeals so much to me.

I qualed on the Beretta in the USAF first in 1989. Bought a 92FS in 1991 and still own it. It's built like a tank (and weighs almost as much), but is really a joy to shoot. The 92 series are fantastic pistols - so much so that I recently added a 92FS compact to my collection.

I recently purchased a 92FS compact (non-railed version) made in Italy. It's every bit as good as my original full size 92FS. I've seen that some of the railed compact versions have a plastic guide rod and trigger. I assume they're US made. The Italian versions still use steel for both.

Matthew B I find that the current guns are as good as ever and maybe better in terms of locking block design (yes, I have one built in 1990 as well). You have some plastic parts now but they're easy to swap out if you don't like them. In the last decade, Glock, Sig, and others have taken a dive in quality. Beretta is the only one (short of custom type guns like Wilson) besides maybe HK that has maintained they're quality in my experience.

I love the bruniton finish. Its like a Teflon style of blueing. Looks quite good and is one of the more durable types of finishes out there. Wish the M9A4 was available in that finish. Also worth noting, you can pinch up front of the slide where it tapers and rack it that way if you want to, as well off of the rear sight one handed on a table or belt. I think the safety is good, especially if you are going to carry the gun appendix style and/or in a cheap generic holster that isn't specific to the gun. Its a reassuring layer of protection to the user. You can make it decock only with a G style parts kit, which is how I think it was originally intended to be made for them and the safety was a request by the U.S. Army and they just rolled with it mostly ever since. Some of the new models of 92 are type G from the factory.

Great video and review!! I bought the 92fs Inox as well as the 92a1 together. My first reaction after shooting them was the same as yours! Brilliant PERFECTION by the world's oldest firearms manufacturer. Immediately the Beretta 92 became and still is by far my favorite fire arm. I also have a Sig Sauer p2022 357 sig which I love but the 92's....man...I could go on and on.

In The CA ARNG we didn't get the M9 till the 90's. We always had the ARMY's left overs. Not any more thank God but we still had the M3 grease gun and the 1911 pistol in inventory for our tank crews in the early 2000's but finally got the M4's around 2003. I love the M9/92FS. Carried one in the Sheriff's Department and in the CA ARNG. Good vid. Thanks.

I did get a double feed with mine. I was not shooting it when it happened. I gave it a shot of CLP and it didn’t happen again. Love the finish. Very slick. The action is so smooth. Recoil is great. The trigger is very long and heavy. I’d probably carry it with one in the chamber safety off. Pushing the safety forward is weird for me. I can do the forward press check by pinching the sloping cut near the front of the slide no problem.

I have 2 -- 92 fs Berettas. One is the "United We Stand" model made for 9-11 and proceeds donated to 9-11 victims. The other is the INOX version, a beautiful gun! I replaced the spring with the "D" version and dropped the double pull to about 8lbs and the single pull to about 4 lbs. Also you can just load a round and turn the safety off-- as the double action pull is still high enough to prevent accidental discharge. All in all a great firearm.

If you don't like the safety, take it off safe. Problem solved. I now have 4 92/M9s and love em all. They don't know how to malfunction. Well, there was that time I accidently loaded a round backwards in the mag. Silly me. Thanks for the vid.

I actually had a stove pipe within the first 20 rounds, & went "oh crap", but never repeated since. I always wanted one since the mid 80's, after bad luck with various name brands, I'm very satisfied. I'm not a striker fired fan, & prefer hammer fired pistols with as little plastic as possible, & insist on a double action first round for personal carry comfort...

My 92FS is abit large for me to carry daily. I don’t have large hands either. But my 92 fits my right hand perfectly. I don’t mind the safety-decocker, even though I tend to inadvertently engage the safety when racking the slide at times (something I need to keep training on that). I’ve since upgraded it with a fluted steel guide rod from Wilson Combat in place of the polymer one. Makes it feel more evenly weighted. I bought mine for $550 before tax several years ago . Mine is a police special; surplus from some local law enforcement entity. So far, it’s been very reliable. I don’t mind the heavy double action trigger pull. I’m left-handed but shoot right-handed. (Gotta love cross eye dominance!)

Im training with a new inox i purchased a few weeks ago. Upgraded the recoil rod to steel. Don’t know why they went with plastic for stock.. I know most buyers wouldn’t mind the extra 20$ to have that option as stock. But it is no doubt a fantastic machine.
@williamryan9195
@williamryan9195 Жыл бұрын
Why plastic? Because the rod is not under any stress that requires metal. It is just a guide and it doesn't bend or stretch. They also use them in Fanboy favorite Glock.

The difference between the 92F and the 92FS is a channel in the slide to prevent it from flying off when, say, you're a large organizational customer and you decide to start feeding it proof loads, and put 10k rounds through it. Also, if you don't like the safety on it, consider getting the G conversion - turns the decocker-safety to decocker only.

Beretta 92FS owner since 1989 have never seen a stop pipe malfunction on a Beretta 92FS. Guess there would need to be an issue with the extractor for that to happened. The Beretta 92 FS was never designed for concealed carry, buy the compact. It's a full size duty that's had a lot of success over the years. With all these striker fired pistols with many options now a days. People have become spoiled, these didn't exists when I started collecting in 1983. What did I do? Learned to adapt.

Glock is 25 oz. that 8 oz. difference makes a big difference when shooting. The 92 shoots with a much softer impulse, within+p 9mm the 17 can get a bit snappy, not so with the Beretta.

Donald Weber As super manly as you my be when you shoot premium HST +p through both guns accurate follow up shots are faster with the Beretta and there is less muzzle rise. When fractions of a second count this can be an issue.

You are obviously a right handed man (like myself) and also appear to be shorter in stature. No offense intended here. I’d like to point out that you did a good job of hitting your targets and that proves that the gun is truly accommodated people of all sizes without any necessary accomodation. As a 92FS owner I like to see good reviews because I know this gun is reliable and I’m reliable in being in control of it.

I bought a Beretta 92 I can’t hit a target at 20 yards with it paid $650 for mine brand new what’s going on with that gun seems like a shoot very low. I love the looks of the gun. I love the filthy gun, but I cannot shoot this gun. Very good at all. I’m not the best with pistol. I carried a Glock 21 for five years when I put the sights on something with that gun and pull the trigger. The bullet went where it was post to go. I’ll pay $650 for a Beretta 92. All is good for is to look at and turn it into a paperwhite. I want to get a hold of Beretta tomorrow and see what I can get done at the sights on this gun does not move and I cannot hear the broadside of a barn with it. I was going to use this gun for my primary carry gun, but I cannot do that because I cannot hit with it. It’s a shame I could take a $300 Taurus TX 22 and hit everything I’m shooting at take a $650 Beretta 92 can you hit a target size of a brick at 20 yards somethings wrong with that

It's common for the 92fs to have polymer parts including the trigger. You can order steel replacement parts from Beretta if you prefer it. www.berettausa.com/en-us/beretta-factory-92fs-steel-parts-trigger-safety-levers-recoil-rod-mag-rel-/e00706/

marryson123 the polymer parts depends on which 92fs you have (and year built). made in Italy or made in the usa, easy way to tell is the grip screws on the USA made model have a flat head screw and the Italian version has hex screws. Mine (usa made) has no polymer parts. Hope that points you in the right direction.

Nice video. Get a 92G, it's a decocker only, that's what I have. Also if you like it, get a Beretta PX4 Storm G model- no safety, decocker only. Yankee Marshall has some vids on making the trigger better. Get the "D" hammer spring. Trijicon recommends a MI company (30 minutes from my house)to drill out the front sight and place a tritium night sight. 8^) tooltechgunsight.com/product/beretta-9296-a1/

And better, you no longer need to look for a "G" model, as Beretta sells a kit to make all Beretta 92's a "G" model. I have an M9, 92G, 92FS, 92A3, and a 96A1, so just a few. The locking block design is one borrowed from the Walther P38, of German WWII heritage. :)

This guy is dangerous, he is going to hurt someone or himself as he kept waiving the pistol around and even swept himself numerous times in the video. Also, if you want night sights, talk to Gary at Amerigun in Michigan (talented gunsmith), Amerigun is on line. Gary did a great job machining/ dovetailing the front of the slide on my M9A1, installed Trijicon night sights front and rear.
