Wow. Finally you’re reviewing a Chinese camera. This Great Wall wasn’t very common at that time, because the Seagull and Mudan TLR models were more dominant. But happy to see you doing this review!

2:54 The film should be on top of the roll, not under.
@columbia1930
@columbia1930 2 ай бұрын
Yes loading it underneath the roller like a Rolleiflex will only bend up scratching the hell out of your film. There is no sensor like the Rolleiflex has.

I was lucky. I got one of those for nothing when buying another camera I wanted. I think the image quality is much better than I expected it to be. The point of the removable lens is that M39 is a standard enlarger thread size, and you can use the lens in an enlarger, which I have not tried. Ted Forbes of AOP said he used one for years when younger and poorer.

Great wall is a very unique camera and of course not that commen. But if you wanna look for more Chinese camera, since i am a Chinese , i highly suggest you to try the Seagull KJ-1(with 38/2.8, made in shanghai) and Huaxia 822(with 40/2, made in He'nan). Those two rangefinders have almsot the best lens above all the 135 Chinese rangefinders.

When you photograph people on the street does your conversation with them ever extend to offering them a copy of the photo or obtaining a model release? I presume you edit your videos for relevant content but wasn't sure if your shooting style is as "hit and run" ( I mean this in a good way) as it appears to be. : )

Enjoyed the video with you interacting with strangers but.... Cotton masks stop maybe 10% percent of anything that comes from your mouth when speaking so by not social distancing it’s basically useless with you two so close together. It was better when people didn’t wear masks and acted more carefully around others.

Cotton masks depending on how thick they are and how they fit filter between 30-70%. FP masks filter about 90%.
