That’s a Druzhba (“Friendship”) soviet chainsaw. I haven’t seen those since my childhood, when our dacha neighbor, who was a permanent resident in that village, bought whole logs that needed breaking down for winter heating. So cool you’ve got one, I’m looking forward to seeing the vid.

Back when I first started "making" I built a dining room table out of 4x4's like you did. Mine is 10' x 4'. I regret the shit out of it because it must weigh 600pds. Getting it in the house is a 30 minute story involving a slight deconstruction of the front porch. Getting it out might very well involve a circular saw. People love it I must admit.

Thank you for your soothing!

Fascinating. I'm getting a few takeaways, here: 1) you are short a few hand planes and need more of them, and 2) the bench of wondrous awesomeness seems like you could attach a drip-cup to the side and use it to collect and harvest rare and exotic lubricants, and 3) the shop is actually way more organized than it was the last time I saw it. Very impressive and thanks for the tour. Happy New Year!

man, I've just started watching your videos - everything you do is fantastic. your gateway drug into this stuff was hand planes, and mine has definitely been hand drills. my collection of drills is tiny compared to your plane collection, but it's growing! those boxed Stanley drills made my mouth water, not to mention that gun grip drill you restored! I'm nowhere near your level of talent - most complicated thing I've restored is a mortise lock and the corresponding door hardware. but I feel less crazy about how I went about it after watching your stuff. and now I feel like I can confidently start properly fixing up my drills. I'm sad I didn't find your channel sooner, but I'm extremely happy to be here now!

You're not alone with having so much stuff around. I have two workshops in my basement. One is for fabricating things from metal for my motorcycle and making things from wood. The other is for doing electrical and electronic repair work. Mostly now I can only repair older vintage things, like old stereos, CB radios and about anything else that's old. All this new electronic stuff is out of my league. I do have piles of stuff that makes my basement like a junkyard. The only good thing is I can find parts for older electrical and electronic devices that I can't find anywhere else.

Clutter and disorganization is what my shop looks like, there is always that thing that needs something or you are going to finnish it in a few days. I believe that it is a healthy thing to (Not be so clean and tighty) when it comes to shop work, the work becomes cleaning the space all the time and not so much work gets done, you get into this "Can't stop right now" frame of mind and that is what we all go through,, So in conclusion. never feel bad about having some unfinished projects, it shows that you are Human and a craftsman at heart. Peace out dude. Dave

This falls under what I call "maintaining the maintenence". It means taking care of yourself as the most valuable tool in the shop, then secondly taking care of the shop. Instead of restoring things in your shop, restore your shop. Sort of like putting on your own oxygen mask in an aircraft before assisting others. That hammer thing looks awesome.
