Some of those big packages night have a whole family's small gifts wrapped in them. That's why they ship them like that. Cheaper to ship one box than pay shipping on each of those small items. My husband worked for FedEx office and he HATED the holidays. People were always so upset when the shipping speed wasnt what they wanted it to be.

If I had to guess about the mailing, I have heard many say they are determined to support local shopping this year (no big stores or Amazon), so that may be why there are people doing their own mail packages.

Please keep in mind that a whole lot of items on Amazon are actually being sold by small sellers. Amazon charges us storage space to put items into their warehouses, AND to list them for sale. Amazon does not buy them - they just let sellers sell on the Amazon platform.

The crates, you really have to use silk flowers in them, maybe larger ones. You can't water a plant in those. They look nice on a patio or you can set them on the floor next to walls going in and out rooms for some flower/plant color. I have medium ones on top of my cabinets. The only thing in them are binders, emergency instructions for the grown kids I have. Where things are, bills that have to be paid, property tax receipts, powers of attorney copies (originals in the safe) just in case something happens to me. Also, you can put them on the bottom step and put things the kids leave downstairs, to go upstairs. Although, could be a trip hazard. I've never had anyone trip on them though. Don't buy glass lamps, first thing I ask before I buy, how would I have to clean it! 🤣
