Just finished my build of your Miter Saw stand. It was one of nearly a dozen designs that I researched before I chose your design. I liked the simplicity of the build using pocket screws rather than some fancy corner joinery. Went together as you designed with the help of your detailed plan. I am adding some extra dust control ducting to take the surface dust on the top of the stand behind the miter saw and pairing it with the shop vac inside with the Dust deputy. I will be enjoying using it for the convenience of being able to move it around anywhere in my garage with the added dust control self contained. The full sheet break-down drawings make efficient use of two sheets of 4 x 8 plywood and cut the costs of the build. Thank you very much!

Hey so I bought the plans and read through them. One thing that caught my attention was the comment about only being able to put the speed square in the slot in one direction - it occurred to me that if you drill in and epoxy in a rare earth magnet in the right spot in the support that you could get around this limitation. Figured it was worth commenting in case someone else could be helped by the idea. I haven't started my build yet but the plans look super easy to follow. The last of my parts that I needed for the build arrived yesterday so planning on starting this weekend.

Drew, I've completed my build , I'm a novice , so this was a leap for me the , video and plans really helped , the only issue I had out side if a few frayed edges and mis calculations was I had to shim my DeWalt 779 up 1/2" to line it up with the wings, unless i didn't read something, Im also going to stain it ,give it a bit of color , I got the Kreg Miter Stop but not 100% sure I will install it or use the T- Track you used... im happy with it , and its encouraged me to make some more stuff.... Drew thank you, you made making this look easy... and it ended up being that, I ended up putting the wings on , on the floor as I definitely wouldn't been able to pick it up , thanks onto the next project......
@713Bentley5 жыл бұрын
I'm currently in the assembly process of this build, which is super easy with the cut list and the step by step instructions. However I found one thing off on your cut list. It is the wing height. I'm aware that all saws might not have the same work piece cutting height, but I have the same saw that you do, with a 3 3/4" height (this is found on page 30 in the manual). With that being said the wing fronts backs sides etc. should be 3" instead of 3 1/4". I'm able to fix this by dadoing a 1/4" of the bottom of the wing where the hinge mounts. Just putting this out there for reference, or a change to the cut list. I absolutely love the design of this stand and would most definitely recommend trying this build. Thank you for such detailed plans and look forward to more content from you.
