Bottom line...it doesn't matter whether you "prefer" expensive, upscale clothes, if you can't afford it, (and she cannot) then you just have to lower your standards. Period. I'm on disability, I live on under $1200.00 a month. A shopping spree? I can't afford the orthodic shoes I need because they are $200.00 a pair. I have TWO pairs of shoes, a pair of boots and a pair of rubber sandals I wear as slippers. Buying a package of new underwear is a serious purchase. My family gives me money to get these things. I was on welfare for years as well. $700.00 a month, in a city where a decent safe room rents for about $600.00 a month. Part of my problem is that the cost of living is shooting up and the disability stipend is staying as is. So the money goes faster, and I'm not doing anything crazy with shopping. People like Alison should have to try and live my life for a month. They'd be stunned witless by the realities of life that most people have to deal with.

yes me too, though I don't care about fashion

I have exactly 3 designer branded items in my wardrobe, a necklace and handbag that were gifted and button up shirt I found in the local charity shop (was originally sold for 95 quid and I got it for like 10 quid) and whilst I love some designer items, I do not need them and frankly if I’m going to buy something I want it be real quality and something I need. Currently planning on saving up for some boots (which will hopefully help with my dislocating ankles) that are £200 but they’re useful as well as gorgeous not to mention it helps to support a small business with ethics I can get behind make me feel better about it not to mention the fact I just won’t get them until I’ve saved up and know that that money won’t be better spent on something I desperately need or bills etc.

‘Who wants to look like everbody else?’ Are you joking? She looks like every standard blond european young woman, nothing special, not even a certain style.

I think the Mom should get her teeth fixed in stead of giving her money away to her Daughter. Ally is super spoiled.

Mom is a total enabler... she can have her daughter work in the charity shop. Spoiled. I would like to know what happened.... she could of invested that and been near 100,000. by now.
