Congratulations Corinne! I’m so glad to see you have joined the world of toy knitting, if only for one project. Your daughter will love it, and isn’t that why we make toys?!?

Oh those cones of yarn... I am working through my stash that contains several sweaters worth of yarn before I allow myself to buy a cone, but I am going to get there. The J & S cones are helping to move me along. And Emma... your dedication to the process of yarn creation is inspiring. Not something I will ever do, but I love to watch the process. Everything made from that yarn will have so much love worked into it. Lastly, although I am not a color work knitter yet... I will purchase Emma's starry cup cozy pattern ... The pattern is inspriring me to finally open that door and explore a new to me world.... One more way an industrious and curious person can make beautiful and useful objects with 2 sticks and some string..... I am very excited to start on one.

I'm embracing Kelsey's reminder that we don't HAVE TO knit gifts. I always start too late and scramble to finish when it's already such a busy time. On the other hand, I do have the Old Port pattern and so who knows, might be a couple hats to gift:)

Hello, I love Kelsey's hat! I am a huge fan of knitting brioche, and I am always on the look out for a new and interesting brioche pattern. Kelsey, thank you for showing us your work. Also, I could not agree more with your comments about gift knitting! I stopped gift knitting some years ago, and it is totally fine. I knit for myself, and I am a very happy camper, with no stress. I loved the whole shop cast again, so thank you for providing this to us.

Delighted was the perfect word to describe how I felt when opening the Selection Box. I couldn’t wait to see what was inside. I am still enjoying just admiring all that yarny goodness in one place. I may have already added to the collection to make a vest. Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving.
@natalyakaganovich5604Ай бұрын
Corinne, I think cutting away the knitted fabric around the armholes of your vest is a good way to go! In fact, some Scandinavian patterns tell you to knit the top of the sweater without any neck opening and then reinforce with a sewing machine and basically cut out a semicircle for the neck, which is similar to what you will be doing but just around the armhole. The vest looks so lovely - would be a pity to give it up! You can do it! 😊

Great advice from Kelsey, both for using what you have to make something beautiful, and for knit gifts for who you want to knit gifts for. Love her math re: the number of people you have to knit gifts for = zero! Although I don’t crochet, I enjoyed Ruth’s segment about what is new in the crochet world. Wishing all of you a happy Thanksgiving. harpingJanet

As always, what a great episode full of inspiration. Wow Corinne, the vests are beautiful. I have been following this sage closely as I would love to knit this once you figure it all out. You embody your mantra: "All knitting is good knitting". What would life be if we never learned from our mistakes?
@katebollinger8815Ай бұрын
Bravo for using seizing the opportunity (however unwelcome) presented by your vest to modify, learn, and grow. It's beautiful. And I couldn't agree more with Kelsey--in fact, my gift knitting motto is stolen from Lord Peter Wimsey (ohhh, Dorothy Sayers would make a great British yarn/book gift box...). I knit gifts "as my Whimsy takes me" and bestow them upon loved ones throughout the year. It has removed the holiday pressure from gift knitting and brought back my delight in it. The whole episode was lovely.
