A million thanks for this extra special interview with Marie Wallin! I, too, am a huge fan of Marie's books, designs, colourwork and British Breeds yarn which I've just started using. The rapport between Corinne and Marie is wonderful. I finished knitting the ribbing for Marie's Rowan Cowl (Wildwood) while watching this interview. I'm looking forward to TWW receiving and restocking British Breeds' Dark Apple and Russet so I have all the colors I need to knit this project. Naturally, I have several knitting projects going at any one time so am never at a standstill. Thank you so much for this interview! Marie Wallin is a lovely person and, for me, one of the brightest stars in our hand knitting firmament.

Thank you so much for introducing me to Marie Wallin. As a new knitter, I am so inspired by her designs and color choices. Knitting my first Vanilla Sweater has me wanting more of the woolly yarn! What would be a good first choice in a Marie Wallin design for a new knitter? Thanks!
@TheWoollyThistle3 жыл бұрын
That's so wonderful! As you've now knitted a sweater, a good first colorwork project might be a colorwork yoked sweater so look at Dana from her new collection, or Bressay from her book, Shetland. If you want to start with something smaller I'd consider her hats (we have a couple of kits in the shop, Mistletoe and Walnut).

That was fun to watch. I was thinking about converting flat pieces to the round and I was wondering if you could separate the body pieces with a purl faux seam instead of steeking and sewing as Maggie is doing on her sweater sleeves.
@TheWoollyThistle3 жыл бұрын
I think you could definitely try it that way instead of steeking and sewing. It's probably how I would approach it, although I'm sure it would be an adventure for me! If you try it be sure to share your process and let us know how it goes!
