In today's vlog we continue working on the part out car and take it to the scrap, we eat some bomb ass food, sell our box truck, pranked my girlfriend that I got a e46 wagon and worked on the cleanest M3 that I have seen.

At 22k miles I would have gone 4 oil changes already, oil is too cheap to screw up an engine.

Im sure it has, I was just saying that the mileage is so low that it wouldn't have needed but 1 or 2 oil changes. Obviously since its a 13 year old car, it should have had 13 oil changes one for each year. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Cristoval Studio I've got a 2002 yamaha R6 and it's been in storage since 2006 with 25000 and since 2006 I've changed the oil one time, I start it up every couple of months. The oil from 2006 was still looking good and smelling good when I changed it last year.

the exact same spec as my M3! 2005 so LED tails, carbon black paint, nappa leather interior, aluminum on the dash, no sun roof, stock 18s with Michelin Pilot Super Sports and a 6 speed manual :) It's a lovely day in colorado, summer weather here so i'm about to go for a drive. cheers!

Not sure if this answers your question but Germany has a vehicle safety authority known as TUV. All OEM (and probably aftermarket too) must meet TUV approval before they can be offered for sale in Germany. The E32 7-series once offered a big brake option. However, because they had to be broken in via a very specific process, the owner had to sign a waiver promising to break in the rotors using this specific process to avoid warping the brakes. BMW feared a lawsuit from noncompliant owners in USA, and considering our very litigious consumer environment, the brakes were a non-North America option and never offered for sale here. Those drilled rotors might have had similar issues.

BMW never offered a diesel E46 in USA and would likely not be legal for importation until the vehicle is at least 25 years old. For the E46, this should be sometime between calendar year 2024 and 2031. Also, California will generally not emissions exempt any car made after 1975. Your only three options would be: a) convert the car's lights, bumpers, instrumentation, and powertrain to USA spec (expensive and time consuming, must be performed by a licensed importer and or conversion facility); b) hire a lawyer and argue for a CARB (California Air Resources Board, which is California's air pollution police) exemption (expensive and time consuming); or c) move and register the car in a state other than California when the car reaches the 25 year exemption age. You could also try to qualify for an EPA "show and display" exemption, but you would have to prove the car is "a significant contribution" to automotive history. Good luck with that one. Only the Porsche 959 and some very rare foreign collectibles have met that legal definition.

I am NOT saying you would do this, but just mentioning this as an FYI - please please please - NEVER EVER leave an animal or a child unattended in a hot car. It's especially a problem for dogs as they have no sweat glands and can rapidly dehydrate. Children also. I only mentioned this because there was a brief cut to the dog in the backseat. Also you should consider getting a harness or a pet carrier for the dog for the animal's safety. That's a pretty small, light dog and could easily get tossed about in the back of a car. If seatbelts are good enough for humans, safety ought to be good enough for the dog too. Adorable dog by the way.
